I have put the same thread out in the Major Airlines section but I am just as interested in working for a Corgo Airline
Oops, that's not what I meant, I do want to stick with aviation.
From Wikipedia:
The Corgo line (Linha do Corgo) was a metre gauge railway line in northern Portugal. It closed in 2009. It ran north from Régua (a junction station on the main Douro railway line running along the Douro Valley) to Vila Real and Chaves. The line was latterly operated by Comboios de Portugal.

I'm in the same boat, having been out of the F-16 for two years due to medical. I'm full-up now (out of the military though), but with only 10 hours of Piper Seneca time in May I'm lacking on currency. I don't like the idea at all of going to a regional as suggested for a multitude of reasons, but if that's the only way then I'll bite the bullet soon. Any good "gouge" would be greatly appreciated!

Fortunately the pilot shortage will make getting a good flying job easier, current or not, as long as you fully understand it.
Things I've learned about the pilot shortage:
- It puts money under my kid's pillows when they lose their teeth
- It hides Easter eggs in the spring
- It wants about $3.50
- It's been spotted in the North American wilderness leaving large footprints
- It has a bank account in Nigeria and needs your help to get it's money out of the country

According to ALPA ... there isn't a pilot shortage, there's a PILOT PAY SHORTAGE.
They suggest that there are twice as many licensed pilots as there are pilot jobs. The problem is that NOBODY wants to go to work for the current Regional Airline PAY!*?
Several years ago I put together a Power Point presentation for my son's school career day. I pointed out that, "Kids ... you can make this much money working at McDonalds!"
... I'm just the messenger. Standing by for major flogging

I was in the same situation as you guys. Significant experience flying internationally in the military (IP/EP, heavy strat air, UPT instructor, CC, yada, yada), but didn't fly my last 8 years. Ended up flying for a regional carrier for a little less than a year.
I've heard multiple different unwritten requirements having to do with recency of experience, but I would say a minimum of 6 months flying regularly is going to be the minimum. I had heard 100-200 hours within a year, but that seems to be a low estimate. Part 121 time is viewed highly, and Part 91 time not so much.

Yes, flying for a part 121 regional carrier seems to be the way the go when low on recent experience; I'm going to enjoy it!

Give a pilot a bag full of money and he'll complain about how heavy it is.
