Flight instruct in USA or EASA ATPL?
Hi all,
For reasons unknown I've decided to return to wanting to fly (Maybe I backseated and realized I miss flying). I did my flight training and a bachelors degree in aviation back in 2008 in Florida. I have about 500 hours total time FAA CMEL/CSEL IR.
I am an EU citizen and with the help of my wife I can get USA green card.
I started the conversion process which would require me to do the 14 EASA exams and some flight training which the flight school decides. Already got the Class 1 medical, Radio Telephony license, and ICAO Level 6 English.
The question is whether to "waste" time studying for EASA or get my green card for USA and build another 1000 flight instructing before joining some regional? Is it better to gain experience in the US and come back here with flight hours?
I know the green card process will take at least 8 months and my wife and I would prefer living in EU.
Any advice or tip would be extremely helpful!
