Default Career Pilot who's Shomer Shabbat?

Are there any pilots out there who are Shomer Shabbat? If so, do you fly fixed wing or rotary? How well does your employer work with you regard time off for Shabbat, High Holidays, and Yom Tovs, ect? I’m currently an aeronautical student who’s trying to figure out whether to go fixed wing, commercial airline, or go the rotary route?

It would be pretty hard if not impossible. I know of one corporate flight department that had a few 7th Day Adventists they worked with to make sure they were off during their sabbath. I don't mean to be negative, but flying is a 24/7/365 business. Will be tough to find an accommodating job. Wish you luck.

Gonna be tough. Aviation is a seniority based business...people wait years to get weekends off so it would be hard for an employer to give a junior person that time off since somebody would have to cover for them.
