Seeking career advice...
Greetings all!
I am looking to make my next big career move and need some help. I am currently a part time Air Nationa Guard guy looking to make the jump to the civilian world of flying. My goal, just like most others is to advance to the majors in the shortest amount of time. My stats are 2000 tt, 600 metpic, ATP and 1st class med. my flying peers in the guard are split on opinions for my situation between just staying with what I am doing (at the rate of 200 hours a year), or go to a regional or fractional airline to get some jet experience. Obviously the low money from the regional world is a bit of a problem, but I may be able to supplement that income with some Guard work. What I would like to know is what has or has not worked for others? Who is hiring folks with numbers like mine?
Thanks for any advice!
Cheers!

Can't really answer that without knowing what kind of aircraft and what type of flying you're doing...looks like C-130? If it's military FW flying, then you should be able to keep plugging along, get your TPIC up and wait for the competitive mins at the majors to come down a bit.
You should already be somewhat competitive for some of the lower-tier majors, but some glass jet time RJ time would certainly allow you to check some more boxes on the applications.
Depends on how much of a hurry you're in I guess.

You said you're currently a part timer, what's your other gig and does it pay well? Do you have a family? How strong of a resume do you have? IP/EP? I think you might be competitive in a year or so, regional might help, but would suck.

You nailed it, C-130 guy. I'm looking to improve my chances as much as I can... I'd like to be able to get any major interview in the next year. If that's not possible I'm ready to do what ever I have to do (regional, cargo, contract) to get there. I'm a frequent deployer, but that's not building time like it use to.
Thanks for the advice.
