Default Likely First Job for a 40 year old Rookie

I am a 40 year old in the midst of a career change. I first received my PPL at age 18, I haven't flown as a PIC since. So I'm basically starting over.

1) How long would it take before I could get my first King Air type job, and how many hours would I need? I can allocate roughly 10 hours/week to flight training.

2) Expected pay?

3) Nature of the job, i.e. medical transport, cargo?

4) Likelihood of getting the job in California (my home state...would like to stay here if possible but am very open to relocation if necessary)?

5) Competitiveness of this job? Tons of applicants for 1 opening??

I would greatly appreciate any feedback and I thank you in advanced.

Happy flying!

James

About 8 months for training up to cfi. The next goal would be 1500 hours-the best way initially is as a cfi. You could also look into skydiving etc, but the mins will vary.
The pay is pretty low for most jobs unless you get lucky. If going after an airline job you would have to go through the regionals first. Apparently pretty easy to get hired nowdays if you have an atp.
The big airlines are another story -very competetive to get hired.
