I think the DMV checks have to be done online in my state now.
It is always a good idea to pull these yourself and see if there are any mistakes. Definitely get any mistakes corrected before your interview.

Applied to B6 and they used Sterling. Sterling lost my info twice. Since it was the identity theft starters kit (date of birth, addresses, SS#) I had to get LifeLock.
I also know firsthand of cases where they faxed personal info to the wrong employer and even back to a pilot candidate (and it was not that person's file).
Be careful.

When the pilot database comes into play (part of HR 5900 and the Airline Safety Act of 2010) all the information will be held there: FAA records, employer records, and driving records. It will be one click access. A third party would only be needed for criminal or credit checks. Files in the database will be there until the FAA is notified the pilot is deceased (no longer 5 years under PRIA - for life). Pilots will have access to this info as well to verify it is correct.
Everyone talks about the 1500 hr rule and the new ATP requirement but the database is a provision that most are unaware of. ANY termination while employed as a pilot will also need to be reported - even if it occurred in a 91 operation and did not involve competency as a pilot. Boss does not like you and cans you... required to be reported to PRIA under the new law.
