Default Applying with a record

So when I was 18 I got a minor in possession ticket for being around a group of kids that were drinking and got caught. Long story short it ended up being taken off my record without me knowing it. I applied to a company I really want to fly with and I self disclosed the situation. I am now under the impression I did not get called for the interview due to the "misdemeanor." Because of this I researched my record and found out it's not on there.

My plan is to reapply and not list the misdemeanor since I technically don't have one. Will this hurt my chances even more since I listed it in my previous application?

I know stupid mistake, always research yourself before you post something like that.

Any advice is appreciated.

How long was it since you applied? If it wasn't too long ago, they just might not have gotten around to contacting you yet.
Hindsight being 20/20 you should have researched your record prior to applying.
My thoughts are this (and they could be completely wrong). If I were on an interview panel and saw two applications from the same applicant, one self disclosing and one leaving that field blank, it would raise some serious red flags to me.
While you have nothing to lose trying, I would start applying to the other airlines you are interested in (without self disclosing of course).

Thanks for the input. Life lessons are tough to learn sometimes haha. Unfortunately not many airlines are based back in my home town! I'm probably just going to try and go to the next convention they are being represented at and try and get some FaceTime with HR. I'll start applying elsewhere here in the near future I suppose.

Go to your local police station and request fingerprinting to he completed. Then submit your fingerprints with the appropriate form and fee to the FBI. Wait 30 days.

But just to clarify... If I haven't been arrested or fingerprinted, I shouldn't have anything on my rap sheet, yes? (Got me worrying now. lol)

I got my FBI record, and it says that I have no arrests on file. I have been arrested twice for public intoxication. The charges were dropped both times. The most recent arrest was July of 2009. Should I self disclose these?

I believe the FBI database only for includes info on "serious" crimes...which includes DUI but I doubt it would include public intox.

Also it seems that fewer airlines are asking about arrests, so read the question and answer what they ask...no more, no less.

Even if the arrest is not in the FBI database, you can't rule out that it could come to light...arrests are typically a matter of public record...some towns release all arrest reports to the media, and the local paper publishes them all (even trivial stuff like PI). So honesty is generally the best policy.

Also...did you disclose the arrests on your FAA medical? The form has asked about arrests (not just convictions) for several years now, and they are particularly interested in substance-related issues. Review your medical forms, and figure out if you did report it, or should have. If you should have but didn't, get yourself an aviation lawyer pronto.

On a related note, in the name of protecting us...; it looks like it's about to get worse. Heard on radio this morning that the federal government wants a new type, and seamless database. They are trying to talk all states into immediately reporting/importing all arrests and other info to a giant central database. This way all law enforcement and other investigators will have access to all and same info about you, one stop shopping...
