Opinions- 135 vs. 121 jobs
Everyones got one. I need to hear it from someone who has experience it.
26 Years old yesterday
3800 TT
800 TPIC (PC12)
2000 PIC
6 Months RSV 121
Clean Record
Goal: Jetblue, Spirit, United, Delta, American
Opportunity: King Air 200 PIC, A start up 135, Good QOL, Good Pay, Good Schedule, Movement to Assistant Chief pilot in 6-8 months.
-or-
Take a job at another regional, my phone hasn't stopped blowing up for months.
One caveat: Finishing my business degree through SNHU and will be done in three months.
Lets hear it.

Honest question: why would you consider a regional when you could have good QOL flying a King Air with the prospect of moving up to Assistant Chief in less than a year?
If this startup is Wheels Up I've heard nothing but good things about them, and their King Airs are outfitted with some awesome stuff.
Jet time isn't everything if that's what's holding you back.

No It is not Wheels Up. I have been trying to set up an interview with them but not totally sure thats going to be a good option for me at this point. I don't think I meet their requirements for PIC and I don't see value in SIC King Air.
The only advantage I see with this King Air opportunity besides pay and QOL is its more PIC time and with the "prospect" of becoming Assistant chief pilot, that would be something else that most regional FO's do not have (not knocking any regional FO).
Anyone with an experience like this? I see a lot of talk about Turboprop PIC time (121 or 135) not really helping people progress to the Majors. I could be wrong.

How much will you fly in the king air job? If you do become asst CP, how will that affect your flying?
While your 800 TPIC is good experience, you really need multi TPIC. If you can get 1000-1500 fairly quick, you could always go back to get more 121 experience. If it's going to take 5 years to get it, I'm not sure it's worth it. Another downside of the KA job, it's a 200 so no type rating. Not that it's a big deal, but shows you can be trained to a higher standard.
If you get a chance, go to a job fair and ask about 135 prop captains getting hired. I'm sure there are some, but I suspect it is a very low percentage.

I won't get 1000-1500 hours flying at this King Air job. Probably 300-400 hours a year. I already have 1 type rating and 121 training so I think that puts a check mark on my resume. Unfortunately I won't have the opportunity to go to a career fair.

Stay long enough to get 1000 ME TPIC, if you can do so reasonably quickly. ASEL TPIC is not worth much unless it also has an ejection seat.
ACP might be a good resume booster, but if there's no AMEL TPIC in sight, I would lean towards the regionals. It depends on how much priority you place on QOL vs. Career Progression.
If you're still flying the PC12, maybe stay long enough to get 1000 hours TPIC since that number does at least allow to apply to a lot of majors.

Try to get the magic 1000 turbine PIC as soon as possible, as this likely "triggers" your application/resume at the various majors as being "lets take a look at him". The ACP job looks good under a leadership/management category and you will likely make contacts at the FAA and other departments this way, which is never negative. The leadership/management block is another "trigger" the majors like.
"taking a job at a regional" does not offer ANY of the above benefits and it is not all about TT or Total turbine, it is the type of background that counts also. Get that degree done also.
My two cents
