Default Airlineapps.com HELP!

Hi,

Filling out Airlineapps.com application for the first time.

Couple things I am not sure how to answer.

Q#1. Driving history. I have couple speeding tickets in the past 19 years of driving. First one was around 16 years ago and the last one was around 9-11 years ago. I am not sure of exact year as it was almost decade ago. The Airlineapps.com says list all driving violation/ticket. It does NOT say list those only from the past 10 years.
***I went to California DMV web and pulled my driving record and it show no violation or ticket on my record. I'm not sure how far these driving record goes back.

What do I list on Airlineapps.com??? Do I not list but rather explain in the interview? or do I list estimated year as I'm not sure of the exact year.

Q#3. Aircraft Experience part of the Airlineapps.
There are places for PIC time, Instructor time and Dual/Student time for each type.
Say first time I flew a C172 was when I started instrument training. All my flight in C172 would be PIC or Instructor time. Would any of my time needs to be in "Dual/Student" time? I ask because when I was a instrument student, I am a student but also a PIC.

Example: Let's just say I have 100 hours total in Cessna 172. I got 50 of these during when I was getting my instrument and other 50 as a CFI.

Do I then list;
-50 PIC
-50 Instructor
-0 Dual/Student

or

Do I list
-0 PIC
-50 Instructor
-50 Dual/Student

Thank you!!!

Question #1: I would list ALL of your driving history not just 10 years back.

#1. I think it is better to list your entire history, as close to possible as you can. I got a red light ticket in 6/01 and didn't know the exact date. It was removed from my record, but I still listed it as close to the date as I remember.

#2. The second way is correct. When you finish the app, it should all add up.

Driving History - List them on airline apps with the year you received the ticket. If it's not within the past 5 years most airlines don't care to much about moving violations. Just be ready to explain in the interview and own up to your past actions.

Logging PIC - If you were not soloing as a student don't log it as PIC even if you were the "sole manipulator". I believe for airlineapps they log PIC/Solo separate from Instructor. So for your example use 0 PIC, 50 instructor, 50 dual/student

As for entering your times, it's ok to generalize small airplane time. For example, make an entry for "small single engine" then put
"c152, c172, pa28, etc" as the description and add it all in. That will save you a lot of time.

As other have said, if you were receiving instruction, even though you were qualified as PIC, log it as dual, and subtract it from your PIC time. Do not log both. This column will not add up at the end. Also, don't list time as an instructor as PIC time. Your total time should add up to PIC+Dual+CFI=Total. Your day and night should also add up to total. Keep tweaking the dual/pic until this adds up.

The web print out as it is not accepted by most companies anyway.

Take a trip to DMV aournd 4:30 PM, pay $5 & get a 10 yr printout. It will show all history. If you took traffic school for something, it won't be there & there's no record for it.

Just list what is on the printout. Like other's said, no one is really going to care about a stop sign 16 yrs ago, unless he slept on couch the prev night & got kicked out home without breakfast...

What most will care is last 5 yrs & look to see a pattern of making driving voilations...

Eventually, the actual DMV printout is what you will need to take to interview, it is a wise investment to know what is on there.

If you got your license, you are ok to drive, that s all...

Question on the Addendum section:

When you answer NO to a question should you put "N/A" in the comment section or leave it blank?

It's not that easy for most folks...unless you've only lived in one state since you got your DL (or know for a fact that you NEVER got a ticket out-of-state) then you may be dealing with multiple state DMVs...and you might forget that road trip from DE down to Panama City that one spring break.

I would provide the info to your best recollection back as far back as you can (I started keeping records at one point, so I have everything from there on). If it gets too far back, you could say something "several traffic tickets 1992-2002"...that should cover you if something in that time frame pops up somehow.

Then pull as many DMV reports as you can readily access to make sure you didn't miss anything.
