I've added a few bags after blocking out while sitting on the ramp after being pushed back with engines off. But I can't find a rule that is broken based on our ops. Everything is electronic and updated
Comb through your FOM and find something. Story #1 comes across as poor ADM and putting your pax in danger (from a 3rd party who wasn’t there). Did the destination turn better than 2,000/3 or was it just improving?

Most HR scenario questions are going to be followed by a follow up question and that one will open a can of worms. “So you no longer had a good alternate and chose to keep holding and burned all of your alternate fuel? Why didn’t you divert early to a less desirable station and get more fuel? Were there no good airports behind you? What did your dispatcher suggest? You held for 40 min and this is the best plan you came up with? What was the plan if your destination airport got fouled up?” I could see that conversation getting awkward in a hurry.

They’re asking the questions to learn something about you and not to just hear a ‘there I was’ story. If you’re interviewing at Delta, I can bet they would rather hear that you bugged out to a crappy outstation to get more fuel because it was the safest option. I had an interview coach once tell me to keep the negative questions out of the flight deck and away from the FARs. Not sure who you’re using but I’d get a second opinion if they like this story.

This exemplary response is deep sarcasm, right?

My story will be about a time I broke SOP to prevent a runway excursion/overrun and then followed-up with a self-report.

If an ASAP report was filed, acquire all the paperwork from the onset to its concluding detailing findings, and additional training if required, and the disposition of the investigation. If your incident was related operating an air carrier environment.
