Default Non-Criminal Drivers License Suspension????

I recently interviewed with a regional airline and was given the thumbs up, contingent on a background check and drug test. I was asked if my drivers license has ever been suspended (I cant remember if it said due to criminal activity or not). Anyways, last year I used to live in FL and moved to a different state. When I moved, I kept my Florida drivers license and switched my auto and renters insurance to the new state. Florida supposelly mailed a letter to the Florida address and told me I had 10 days to submit new Florida insurance. Obviously, I never received this and later found out my drivers license was suspsended in Florida for a few weeks when I applied for a new drivers license in my new state. I had to get my FL drivers license reinstated. I didn't think anything of this being an issue but now I regret not informing the background check interviewer about this. It didnt even register in my head to speak about this because it seemed like a non-issue. A few days ago, I ordered a drivers record of the past 3 years and noticed it was the only thing that showed on my record. It specifically states "FR-Cancellation". FR stands for Financial Responsibility Cancellation due to Insurance. Obviously this is not a misdeameaor or felony, but I am losing sleep over this. I am supposed to hear from the regional this week and wanted to ask if you think this will be an issue? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hard to say. Typically what they (and the FAA) are interested in is anything DUI related.

But it might still be an issue that you didn't disclose it, since they asked. If it were me, for peace of mind, I'd just reach out to HR and tell them you had forgoten about it. Hopefully they'll be fine with that since you disclosed it and it's not criminal, DUI, etc.

Some lower budget airlines (including regionals) don't actually run background checks until you show up for class, since they don't want to waste the time and money on no shows. If something turns up on the background check that they didn't know about, they'll simply escort you out the front door. The background checks don't legally need to be done until you actually start IOE. So I wouldn't want to resign from a previous job with a background question hanging out in limbo for the new job.

I remember that exact scenario: My new hire class with Tower Air in 1994: They did the background check on us after ground school started, 5-6 guys out of 31 were told not to come back Monday, we called it Black Friday.
Some of them had already quit good jobs to work for Tower Air, I saw grown men cry, brutal..
One of two had filed for personal BK which was a no-no, lack of judgment or something..
Others had played with their resumes, one had witnessed against his previous company in an FAA case, etc.
Plenty ex Pan-Am and Eastern pilots in class, also Braniff and other greybeards.

What ended up happening to Tower? lol. Ironic any airline for that matter would have a problem with people filing BK.... I think these days they have to specifically tell you if your credit history or BK will be used as a basis for making a hiring decision.

I can imagine the lawyer's mouths watering after hearing about someone pulled out of class for this one, if it happened today.

Tower Air expanded too fast and fell on their knees year 2000.
I was furloughed twice, but ended up making left seat in 18 months during the rapid expansion.
It was a ok place to work, almost fun and the pay was quite good. (Especially for overtime and minimum rest, etc.')

Yeah, things have changed, but on the other hand, nobody was "Hired" the first week, just invited to attend class with a possible job later.
