Default PRD

Well, here's a kick in the head. Didn't see a great place to get this out there, if some moderator guru has a better idea it's fine with me.

I recently was asked about an RTD test result under the Drug & Alcohol tab of my PRD profile...whaaaa? RTD means having previously failed or refused a test.

Never happened! While I was in ground school for this 135 operator in '15 they sent me for a random and it came up negative.

This record shows it was only introduced into PRD in Spring of '23! No telling if this prevented me from getting interviews or offers - of course I answered no to any such questions, and carriers will not necessarily ask you to explain something like this.

I reached out to the operator and they agreed it was some sort of clerical error. I "requested a correction" in PRD with an explanation of the true state of affairs, and now the record shows "correction approved" and still sits there in my profile. What a POS system!

Leidos runs this thing and they state that the cryptic "correction approved" closes it out - I want it to be removed entirely and am pushing back.

I suggest all of you dig in your PRD and check this crap out. Have to click "Experience" tab to get the "Drug & Alcohol" tab to appear. You should have zero records there if your record is clean.

Excellent advice. Over the next year operators will be putting in historical records. If you are not already at your destination carrier you should be checking it routinely and disputing errors.

That's disappointing to hear that even after the erroneous record is fixed it remains in the system to alarm HR.

That entity is required to:

§ 111.250 Correction of reported information and dispute resolution.

(a) A reporting entity that discovers or is informed of a perceived error or inaccuracy in information previously reported to the PRD must correct that record in the PRD within 10 days of identification, or initiate dispute resolution in accordance with paragraph (b) of this section.

(b) Each reporting entity must—
(1) Initiate investigation of any dispute within 30 days of determining that it does not agree that the record identified is inaccurate.

(2) Provide final disposition within a reasonable amount of time to any request for dispute resolution made by an individual about PRD records.

(3) Document in the PRD the final disposition of any dispute made by a pilot in accordance with this paragraph (b) and § 111.320.
If they have not done this, you need to report it. Start with [email protected]?subject...0www.fa a.gov Work up the chain if you have to. Get your congressman involved if you have to.

It's a regulatory question. The Aviation Law forum would be the place to post.

The PRD should be reviewed regularly. The only party entitled to dispute what's in there, or to incude comments, is you.

James and John - thank you both. "Correction approved" seems to meet the letter of the law, but the slightly cooled and completely erroneous turd still sits there in my record, so it's an awful protocol. How many operators will hunt and peck to see what is noted!? If either of you know who can move the thread to the law forum please check in with them...

Keep reporting it (that there's still a discrepancy). Work up the chain. Start calling FAA managers. Call your congressman.

In general you don't grant an airline access to the PRD until a CJO is received. That would be a good time to let them know what they will find in there so they know to look for the correction. They should also send you a possible adverse action letter before rescinding a job offer because of it.

I'm on your side that it's obnoxious that a clerical error makes it look like you popped hot but I don't think it will hurt your career. You can honestly answer no on the drug test questions when applying.

Further update - Leidos tells me this erroneous entry cannot be removed, but the carrier that made the mistake can "suppress" it via column 13 of their display when they look it up.

Last update - I hope - for my fiasco:

The carrier that made the error successfully "suppressed" it.

I have learned that when a carrier accesses your records, they generate a report. If they go back into PRD, they will only see that same report unless they generate a fresh one. Their not realizing that kept me going in circles an extra day.

Glad to hear a positive resolution. Thanks for sharing. You won't be the last to go through this.
