Am I Stuck?

I would bang it out at Skywest, upgrade as quickly as possible, and get involved in things like recruiting, become a LCA, or something like that. You'll make decent money and realistically, if it takes you 5 years to get to a majors, that's faster than a flow, and health willing, you'll only be 52/53. 12-13 years of flying at a major will still be way worth it.

The nice thing is you don't have to decide everything right now. Just start working on the degree, and reassess when you get it done. Some colleges will even give you credit for ATP or CFI certs. Even if AA never calls, 10-15yrs at different major would likely be worth it over OO depending on where you live, etc. But if you want the chance, you need the degree.

An online BS degree takes about 6-7 years to complete and can be pretty costly. Wouldn’t want to do it unless I knew with certainty that I wouldn’t be faulted for doing it online.

With regard to online degrees, I’ve read mainline carriers want to see a degree that was earned full-time at a campus and that you got that degree directly after high school. Is that true?

I've decided to focus my attention on Spirit. They have four year degree listed in their preferred requirements, but they also have A320 type rating listed. Maybe I will have a chance. It's early for me yet, but I will begin my research and start building relationships. Gotta at least try.
Thanks again for all the help, guys.
