Gap in flying, want to go to majors and need
Former military pilot, lots of hours, but didn’t fly the last 10 years, but want to fly commercial
Considering fractionals.
- Is that a reasonable stepping by stone to get back into flying (and recent flight experience).
- Are there training commitments with fractionals
- Is fractional experience (135 time) valuable for legacy carrier applications

Gap in flying need advice
Former military pilot, 4000+ hrs (C5). Non flying staff the last 10 years, but want to fly commercial
Considering applying to NetJets.
- Is that a reasonable stepping by stone to get back into flying (and recent flight experience)?
- Are there training commitments with netjets?
- Is fractional experience (135 time) valuable for legacy carrier applications?
Also a little nervous about the trouncing netjets takes on this forum. Plan would be 6 ? months and go majors (or at least try)

You might find you like NetJets.....have a good friend there and it seems to offer a better overall quality of life much sooner....no stress commuting, no crashpad. If you have the offer you have nothing to lose by going For it. He left the airlines to go there...he said the ultimate paycheck might be less, but he seems to enjoy the varied flying and stress-free atmosphere there.

Wonder if netjets could identify you based on the info given. Wonder if they would be ok with "6 months".
I would really watch what your write in a public forum.
That being said.. there are many qualified candidates out there, 6 months seems optimistic.

Assuming your military resume is typical or better 6-12 months at a regional is not unreasonable to get a call from some major.
Regional 121 time will be a better resume bullet than a fractional and you'll build time faster.
Factionals are hurting for pilots too, so they'd probably take you knowing you might leave.
And yes be careful what you post, it's a small community and APC well known by all.

Seniority is everything. You get a call from a major you go if that’s your goal. There is no courtesy. It’s business. They’d furlough him out of training if needed. He should look out for himself not some interim employer where he’s just a number anyway.

Go to a regional if you're looking to build recency for a major. It'll be more appropriate experience for what you are trying to do (121 operations) and they won't be bothered as much if you leave shortly after you get current.
