Building my Apps
Just trying to get some direction on how to make my applications better with a few questions...
- For each job how do you fit everything you do in 500 characters or less?
- Education, do I really need to list every military training course? Like does the board care I went to Airman Leadership school in 2005?
- Awards....bullet format & any other recommendations? Most recent at the top in the one container?
I’ve got a bit of time 2-3 years before I can retire and am trying to get ahead. Don’t want to start paying for a review service until I get it pretty solid myself and closer to publishing my apps.

For non aviation jobs, use minimal text. The job title plus your rank will tell them what they need to know, unless it was something really special in which case you should elaborate. Most airlines are pretty familiar with the military, it's not like the white collar world where you have to translate your skills so they understand.
For education, I'd list service schools and formal degree programs. But it depends on how they word the question.
For awards, personal awards only and highest precedence first. They'll probably look for air medals, stars, LOM+, and tune out the rest of the chaff.
