Also, if you're interested in Delta they have a CTP-ATP program which costs about $3000. The benefit with this is that they will score your app at the appropriate time (i.e., after you get your 100 hours) and if you pass they will offer you an interview.

One of my air force O-6 buds went this route, flew with a regional and as soon as he hit 100 hours asked the delta rep to score his app. He received an interview shortly thereafter and is in indoc this week.

I know they are hurting for pilots but to hire someone who will obviously leave in 3 to 6 months doesn't sound like a reasonable candidate for the Regionals??
Regionals will accept folks with commercials and no type to send through training. An ATP and type rating is gravy.

Regionals all know that military folks use them as stepping stones and are okay with it. schedukes get to use them to fly revenue flights that they would otherwise cancel for lack of crew while they’re on property and the company also gets to use their hiring stats to shows where their pilots end up to further recruitment of other pilots.

Regionals are hiring many of these exact people, and know the score.

They need to fill seats now, and are happy for whatever time they're able to get out of someone who they're pretty sure is going to pass initial training.

Two and a half years ago at the interview for the regional airline I ended up working at (as a recently retired, non-current USAF O-5), the guy who gave me the job offer said, "we know you'll be off to a better job at some point soon, but we're happy for whatever time you can give us here."

Getting hired six month sooner is worth $160,000+ plus better seniority for your entire career. Moving the hiring curve as close as possible to your DOS has significant value.

Been thinking the same thing...may pull the trigger on it in Dec.

I thought the same thing, but they are hiring us types with their eyes wide open. Spoke to a hiring rep at a regional recently and she stated that very thing, that I would only be with them for a short time, but would be happy to have me for those few months.

Yes, tracking the Delta course and those perks...have a friend too that just went that route and was also hired. Got the interview shorty after the ATP-CTP course.

It's about stacking as many check marks, boxes, squares, whatever, on your side of the line ASAP in order to advance your second career opportunities. APT + 737 type would get your brain back into the game and fill some squares. Enough? Apparently it works for DL and perhaps SW. There's thousands of guys would take an interview with those two airlines. Spending $3000 to perhaps guarantee an interview is dirt cheap.
