Breeze Schedules
#71
The money I make from retirement or investments have zero to do with the competitive rate to do a job. The Breeze 220 rate is embarrassingly low. It doesn't matter if they are military retirees or airline early outs. They SHOULD be paying a competitive rate on top of their early out.

Neelman has said that he expects quite a few early out pilots from the majors to staff (220A) for a few years. Many of those are 60+ already cashing a pension or PBGC.
$167/hr on top of early out pay and no ALPA dues means many of these pilots will be pulling in the functional equivalent of over $450/hr for a few years + pension (+ mil retirement pay/medical for many) - not a bad side gig until 65 for a known biddable schedule.
A “good” FT 91 gig could pay more but with much less time off and flexibility. Frac F/O on the road 13/10 or 8/6 at <$100K/yr for several years

in fact, the welfare food stamp system and other programs are mostly the biggest government gift to Wall St ever. It allowed countless major corporations to artificially keep wages low, using tax money to subsidize their labor force. Looks like Breeze still thinks that way.

OK, how many DEC jobs out there that pay industry standard? What did JB pay early on? Seems like they have already upped their rates substantially. If they want it to be a destination not a stepping stone they will have to in order to staff. Early retired pilots from other airlines are a finite and short lived solution
If you can't afford pilots at a reasonable rate, your business model is broken to begin with

You will never get industry standard here. Trent Porter will see to that. Caveat Emptor.

Breeze could be out of business or merged with JB or someone else within a couple of years. I see working at a place like that akin to buying crypto - could pay off big, a gamble, and not something you should do you cannot afford to lose - it’s never going be the airline standard. I don’t get all the bashing - no one is forcing anyone to work anywhere
