How someone with Neelman’s experience and contacts can leave all decisions to the likes of those he did speaks volumes to me.

He will reap what he sowed. Seems he let greed carry over conscience. But then again he signed off on no stock or bonuses for new pilots. The blame is shared.

I hope the best for Breeze employees. It will be a long fight.

Congrats on getting ALPA, but as others has said, it's not gonna solve much in the near term. I'd still consider leaving for greener pastures.. and they are greener. Nobody I know that has left has regretted it. I couldn't be happier at my new shop and the movement has been eye watering. The typical talking points used to dissuade you guys from leaving for bigger carriers have not been true at all- it least in my little corner of the industry. YMMV obviously...

Congratulations on moving on! You’re right, most pastures are greener elsewhere right now. They may be for life, or maybe not. Time only tells. And yes, ALPA will do next to nothing short term. Hopefully we can just get a contract signed initially to have black and white work rules…

Default Breeze out of Bradley

Does anyone know what pilot schedules will be like out of Bradley like day trips 2,3, or 4-day trips?

We have been told to expect 2 and 3-day trips for all 220 flying.

As an outsider. To vote on a union, just as breeze is gaining traction for the first time, you might as well throw the biggest wet blanket you can find on any quality life, work rules, and compensation. Every single thing will have to go through a union at that point. Which will delay it at least two years. I know firsthand it will delay one year just getting the union formed. (Teamsters to Alpa). Then another year or more to get the legal “black-and-white” part completed. That’s only if the company agrees to every single item. Having a union at this point in time, would be the most devastating slowdown event you guys can do to yourself. I get that you need better EVERYTHING right now. But that union vote will guarantee a major delay. Just talk with your feet if you don’t like it or can’t wait any longer.

What's the alternative? (other than leaving)

They know what they’re doing. It literally couldn’t get any worse at MXY. There’s no work rules anyway. The company is already having recruiting and retention issues. It can’t go backward.

It’ll take probably 2 years minimum to get any kind of TA, which is faster than MXY could ever improve things measurably without representation.

This seems like biting your nose to spite the face. If the company isn’t treating you well, and they’ve had time to show that they will, then likely they’ll never treat you well. Yeah, the company is going to fight tooth and nail with a TA. However, the union at that point has cards to play. The biggest one being a strike. Breeze is too small to have the government step in and stop one, IMO.

If the union is where the pilots want to go it’s best to rip that band aid off and start with it sooner than later. If the work rules suck or don’t exist that’s not going to change without a fight. It boggles my mind that, in this environment, a company wants to treat their pilots like crap. There are simply too many better options out there. Breeze has a base in my home town, and the only reason I haven’t gone there is they don’t offer equity in the company. If they had done that I likely would have gone for that gamble for the increased QOL.
