Sounds like you are being pragmatic and have eyes wide open. Assuming you have pilots with previous ALPA work there….
The irony of a guy collecting 3 years of free money negotiated by ALPA so that he can have an opportunity like this to double dip essentially warning against ALPA representation

If he actually said that, and based on the fact that JetBlue didn't have a successful union drive until well after he departed, and people seemed a lot happier there for the first few years, even with the lower pay, is it possible he simply surrounded himself with the wrong people on this one? Not defending him, and he may have just been full of manure, but if he actually did believe that, he really failed hard since it's been less than a year. They could have at least given the pay raises like Avelo did, they didn't even do that, or anything else it seems.

It’s my understanding that David has been very hands-off and unaware of what’s been going on. Well that’s the story at least.

I said they do good work, but are not without fault or considerable pork. DAL/UAL etc get a very different ALPA than the small carriers. The previous poster nailed it.

I’d say you benefited handsomely by the same - how many numbers you move up when the early outs left? That saved a lot of young pilots careers and slingshotted seniority. You’re welcome

Well, if that's the case, sounds like he really dun fcked up. Unfortunately surrounding himself with bad people for this venture, and letting them run the asylum, seems to have lead to things not going well. Hopefully he's paying attention now.

I support my union. I'm not the one on here throwing doubt into a union vote because of some perceived grievance that isn't really reality.

And when I was at my regional, the support we got from National by being able to piggy back off of E&FA and sharing council with other properties made it possible to have a functioning union even though we were relatively small and underpaid.

And yes, it’s not a fix all. It may fix hardly anything. I’m sure upper management is frustrated about it. But for them to act like they didn’t see it coming is absolutely hilarious. They were being told last fall that a union drive would happen very soon if conditions don’t improve dramatically.
Unfortunately, you guys have the stink of Allegiant management on your airline. LJ and TP when they were at Allegiant were instrumental in this sort of thing. LJ in particular is an arrogant little man who will blow you guys off all day long. Doesn’t surprise me to hear this, sounds exactly like the same play book they used at G4. Know this those two hate pilots. They will lie to you guys and blow you off at will.

We had an advisory committee in the beginning too. Got nothing done. Management, LJ and TP under the guidance of MG routinely ignored and outright lied to us. These two will not only lie and ignore you they will not abide by their word even when it's codified in a contract. Contract compliance when you guys get one will be an everyday battle with these two former Allegiant alums.

From what I understand ALPA makes a concerted effort to offer significant assistance to small carriers now. Take it. You have nothing to lose. When LJ and TP try to tell you we’re different and only need a direct relationship to address you concerns, they're lying that’s what they do.

Aside from the assistance ALPA will offer your airline, being company to another pilot advocacy group is good for pilots, i.e. keeping the 1500 rule which Neeleman and all airline management desperately want to get rid of.

What’s the worst that could happen? Neeleman gets mad and takes his toys and goes home. F that guy. Send him back to Brazil.

Unfortunately for Breeze having TA, TP, and LJ in particular (oompa loompa) running this company, and ALPA coming onboard I feel bad for an excellent group of pilots busting their behinds to keep moving metal. we all know that Breeze won't be a very nice place to work with those 3 stooges. Once again congratulation David Neelman on your first Unionized company, this is not Brazil....
