How many have no other means of financial support?
It is what it is. I always thought Breeze would struggle if their business model included experienced pilots with low compensation in the midst of the biggest pilot shortage ever, but covid solved that for them.

Curious to see what people think, how many Ejet drivers with 1000pic in the jet are looking for work? only former Compass folks and a handful of XJT are on the street that i can think of. When compass closed, they had around 450 pilots total, with maybe 250 captains? Of which maybe half had 1000 hours?

Can you blame them? I would to if my company closed shop and put me on the street with no other 121 job prospect in sight. Hopefully the industry rebounds and puts pressure on this company to raise their compensation. If not, they’ll have out of work pilots lined up to take a 35 dollar an hour position.

No, I don't blame them at all. I was attempting to defend them actually, but it appears that was a failure on my part lol

All I want for Xmas is a Breeze interview
At least 1, but in all seriousness, to loosley quote the great Capt Roger Victor, no pilot should be shamed for taking a job opportunity to feed their families. Nobody is crossing a picket line here so take it easy with the disrespectful comment. Compass pilots were and still are the finest group of co-workers I've had the privilege to fly with and learn from. Some of them will end up at breeze and not because of a lack of self respect but to further their careers during a devasting year for our profession.
Regional
Most aren't hiring and the thought of starting over at another regional with worse pay, QOL, and long upgrade times? No thank you. On top of that, sitting reserve at a regional that I'll have to commute to sounds like a fresh new hell that I'm not prepared for.
Cargo
I'm pretty sure I applied to every single operator out there and have gotten nothing but crickets and tumbleweeds as a response. Hiring windows pop up and they get over 1000 applications in the first day so the odds are stacked against me. Oh, and with a schedule that typically has you working 17 days in a row my wife might forget who I am.
Charter
Jump into a smaller jet and deal with rich people. I'm treading water in a few pilot pools for this kind of work but they're not my first choice. Again, long upgrade times and the 8 on 6 off schedule isn't my favorite. This would be a place holder rather than something that truly advances my career.
Breeze
Sitting in a familiar cockpit with some old friends is enough for me to want this job and want it bad. Potential for quick upgrade, sitting on top of the seniority list, bringing the double wave back, and forming a snack basket committee. I meet their min requirements and they're hiring so give me one good reason why I shouldn't be eagerly anticipating a call from them like a kid on xmas morning.

Pilot-wise of course the reason to go to breeze would be desperation in the short term and promise in the medium to long term.

I was being a jerk and I agree with you about the labor market factor, but what about covid decimating demand in general, could make it rather difficult to launch the airline, even if they are saving a few million on salaries.

So good to see you here BobbyLee, I sure do miss flying with ya! We really did have the best pilot group over at Compass and I'm hoping to reunite with some of them if I'm lucky enough to get an interview. My minimum guarantee on unemployment is 1800 a month so ya, I would be absolutely thrilled to land a job here and stop hemorrhaging cash from my savings. The options for someone in my position are as follows:

Just a thought, but there are some CAE and Flight Safety jobs open for instructor. Good opportunity to get a PIC type in a corporate jet! Below are a few

I would jump on those if they didn't require relocation
