it was said all along that they HOPED to have them put by May, but it’s perfectly reasonable to expect this fall. Supposed to be in them before winter though. They are also supposed to roll out with the new FA uniforms, and they haven’t been making much progress on that either

Unhappy Much Bigger Issues

There won’t be a new uniorm until the current inventory runs out plus it costs a lot of money so it’s on the back burner.

The bigger issues at hand are; the contiuous meltdowns of the operation, turnover increasing as people are starting to realise all the Tuesdays “we’re working on it” are NOT really happening! Schedules AND SCHEDULING, continue to be a major issue and it really isn’t going to be fixed. BH hates pilot’s and as long as she’s here AND IN CHARGE, you can forget ever having a decent lifestyle. She was the same at Mesa and Allegiant. The lady that was in charge before and was loved by many, resigned as did NA, the lady in charge of PEOPLE. They are gone and it has gone down hill ever since. Most departments are having major issues and then there is the new TeamTravel which is really ruining this company BIG TIME!

This place is NOT what people were told and expected. Sadly, it’s not getting better, it’s getting worse, A LOT worse! It’s not the front line people, they’re great. It’s our management! They really are just bad at running an airline. The Playbook is merely a suggestion until we get a proper CBA, years away, and stop the abuse and madness that is continuing to happen everyday.

This summer will really be a tell tale whether it makes it or not and honestly, it is not looking good at all. We cannot afford a third straight summer of major operational issues, WE CANNOT!

To be clear, I like it here and I am going to ride it right into the ground but we are heading at warp speed straight for said ground. I was holding my breath but I have started to scream as it’s coming up faster than I expected. Believe me, I would love to be wrong and told so right here on APC, i’ll happily eat crow BUT, if I’m right, the pilot shortage will be fixed when 400 pilot’s hit the street UHGAIN. Really feel sorry for the Compass people.

Stay tuned.

or you could leave now and have a seat at a major [real] airline vs waiting and risking the majors not hiring by the time you want to be gone. The choice is easy

There's still hope of quick upgrades here into the new 80+ A220s coming, we're already at about 400 pilots. With the looming global uncertainties you'd want to be as high up a seniority list as possible, might not be the best time to go back down the bottom. Even at the other places, they do have quick upgrades but mostly for spots nobody wants.

I completely get where you are coming from - Scheduling people are always a hassle to deal with at any airline, team travel does suck. They hired a new person..so? good i guess? It doesn't make sense having 3-4 legs and the entire day wasted to just travel west to east or east to west, like give me a direct damn im tired as hell. These are just struggles with a new airline. CP already said he's made good progress with others on the updated playbook...so thats good.

But I still understand ur pain - However these are not issues that are making this place run inefficiently. Every new airline takes 4-5 years at MINIMUM to become profitable. I don't think any airline at this growth can become profitable just like that. Especially with a brand new spankin airplane every month? What airline has done that?

IMO they're doing a great job running an airline and as things grow, pilots deal w some of the minor pain. We're paid well, okay benefits, they pay for your cell phone bill, u get the hotel points for most, flight points for anythin except united, look how many days off FO's are getting MINIMUM. But it def seems like they are working on things, some faster than other.

My worst day here is still probably comparable to an average day at the regionals though, but spirit guys still got it better..

Would I take a job offer at spirit? nah.
Would I take a job offer at delta/united/american? yes, but ill give it a year before my apps are put in if these issues aren't fixed

JetBlue was profitable in year two. Avelo will be profitable next quarter. SWA was profitable almost the day they started. This is the highest revenue environment the airline industry has ever seen. If your not profitable soon it’s not going to get easier. Startup airlines that are not profitable by the 4 year point become defunct.

Interviewed in February and just got the August 7th A220 class date. Anyone have any insight on where the new A220 hires are getting based and if new FOs are actually flying or just sitting?
