Thank you for being very candid and I kind of figured as much. As a follow-up, are there any "New Hires" going to East Coast bases out of training? I do live in TPA and moving (for a long period of time) would not be an option, although, I would consider CHS as a new home. Just trying to make the best decision on the information I'm given. Thanks to all for your input!

United has an MCO base that will open in the next few months and eventually TPA will be a coterminal. At the moment, MCO is very junior on the FO side. Food for thought…

Thoughts on my situation

Hello, I posted in here a while ago. I’m getting tired of the 135 stuff and want to jump to 121(I’m an FO at 1600hrs and plenty turbine). Preferably a LCC but haven’t heard back from others, but have an offer from Breeze. I live in Tampa and my thought was “great I’ll get the A220 (heard everyone was because of how many they had on order) and live in base TPA, or commute until I get it eventually. Read all the previous pages on the forum, and it sounds like living here in TPA will almost make me worse off due to seniority and if I got the E190. Any thoughts on what I should look at doing? I was actually really stoked to work at Breeze but from some previous posts, now I’m not so sure????

Commuting on the A220 sucks, but if you live in base it’s great! Those lucky enough to be able to move to a base are very happy. Seniority is relative. Every new hire is at the bottom. But with the number of planes on order your seniority will go up quickly. Tpa is senior so you will be junior there, but as we get more planes, junior seniority becomes senior rather quickly. We added roughly 200 pilots last year, probably more than that this year. So look at percentages.

Again commuting can be done just takes your days off away. Once in base even on reserve your home!

The plane is amazing, the people are great, just the trips are not commutable yet. You have to get to the base a day earlier and leave a day after.

In base: the trips are highly efficient flying day. 15 hrs 2 day trips with a 24 hr layover pretty great!

The company has to fix it or they will loose a lot of pilots this year

I would get in and get that seniority number here. We’re supposed to triple in flights in 2023. At least there is a TPA base with non stop flights to the other bases and you’ll be on your own metal if you need to commute. Otherwise it seems pretty straight forward, go some place that can give you TPA or MCO.

What this guy said. Apply at F9 (TPA JR). In the mean time, take the class date at Breeze. If you get the 190, update your apps with breeze on there and f9 will call. If you get the 220 drop, stay home in tpa and watch the seniority list grow below you (if we can keep hiring). Congrats and welcome.

Is there any concerns with Breezes profitability, there are a couple articles floating around saying Breeze is burning through cash and Avelo is the more likely candidate to make it.

Most here at breeze don’t worry about profitability, it’s going to come. The product is solid when things are running smoothly. I believe we’re at 70 ish % LF. Ppl will hate on NeELeMan but he’s still worth 400M and this is the most well funded start up in history. If he needs more cash, he’ll get it. If I were to choose between the 2 , I’d bet on breeze. Our product is better and our growth trumps avelos by a large margin.

Not really. You know you have something good when passengers are thanking you right there on the plane for being there. It’s one of those products where if you try it, you’re going to come back. This year the company is planning on focusing making the experience more consistent. There have definitely been growing pains. But overall, it’s a product people like. January is a slow month but for last several months most flights I’ve had had been mostly full.
