Exactly. Hiring needs to happen NOW.

Has anyone stopped to think that perhaps he has already acquired an AOC by purchasing an existing airline? At least one supplemental carrier was acquired last year

Wouldn’t that be public knowledge? One doesn’t secretly buy an airline.

Yes, they have not. He also is very cheap. Acquiring another airline is a very expensive way to start.

Not if the company was privately held

Let’s see, he wants to start flying with Azul surplus 190s and 195s.

Has any privately held regional that uses Embraer 170/190 type rated pilots recently lost a lot of Delta flying..? Because those surplus pilots would only require about three days worth of differences training - mostly CBTs - to fly 190s.

Only if it is on the same Operator - a different APC, Ops Spec and SOP require the full program.

Correct. There's a waiver available for a short transition course between airlines, but I suspect the FAA would only approve that for pilots transitioning from one established carrier to another, doesn't sound like a good way to man a startup.

Useless thread. He wants a low cost airline. You do that by starting from nothing with first year employees. The worst thing you could do is acquire another airline especially if it were go jets. He is smarter than that.
