Know one knows which direction this industry will go.
TWA is hiring. Contact Howard Hughes.

I’m not saying it’s not a good place to go for some. In fact, my previous dissertation (few posts back) laid out the case of how I think Neeleman will likely be able to staff it (hence it’s a “good deal” for plenty, at least as a short term job). It’s just not likely going to be a place that’s going to pay a ton anytime soon. “Better than a regional” is all he needs to pay pilots to get meat in the seat. It’d probably be a great job if you lived in one of those bases and were home every night, had a good schedule, could pick up premium, make ok money. Just like being senior at a regional is a good job for some. I just see a lot of guys who think ground floor Neeleman company = automatic golden ticket to paradise and lambos, which isn’t the case.

Out of principle though, I wouldn’t work for an outfit that told me to pay for a water off a flight I was working. This industry doesn’t need anymore scumbag practices with scumbag leadership racing to the bottom. It only hurts the rest of the industry to put up with, accept, and enable that garbage. This is worse than Jonny Ornstein making crews pay for KCM (I think MAG ALPA fixed that in the last few years, but an example of a scummy gesture/rule by scummy leadership). The fact that Neeleman is allowing that scumminess from those turds who supposedly got fired from allegiant (like Trent Porter) shows he’s either completely hands off and disengaged (what I’ve heard is the case), or has fallen from grace as a leader and turned into a greedy scumbag himself. “World’s nicest airline” my @$$. More like world’s cheapest scummiest airline.

Similarly, by making themselves into a beginner/stepping stone airline and slotting themselves where they did pay wise, and planning on a lot of pilot churn as their long term labor business model, they will keep their pilot pay low for the foreseeable future, and will put downward pressure on industry 190/223 rates, as well as work rules. So, I guess what I’m saying is, yeah, I guess it’s better than mesa, if you live in a breeze base, maybe.

If JB is where you want to go, hopefully JB calls soon after you start at Breeze. With as much hiring as JB is doing, I doubt it’ll take long to get a call. Good luck wherever you end up.

Trent Porter works there?

His dream is to be the guy that brings down perks and/or compensation for all pilots from his enactment of policies.

I would suggest you look elsewhere for employment then. Nice enough guy in person but he will never let you have anything industry standard or better… and he is in charge of the purse strings.

Honestly I would never (again) work for a place that would hire someone with his pedigree and mindset.

This water issue is going to be the first of many things….

It’s obvious that you haven’t flown one. Now back to your regularly scheduled APC trolling.

Do jumpseaters have to pay for bottles of water and snacks?
