I'm a new hire for the E145. I am going to wait until class before buying stuff but how can I "sticky" this thread for the future?

evh347, glad I could help. I'm a little jealous about your new laptop :) I have been eyeballing a Lenovo x61s for some time now. I'll be placing my order next month (hopefully).... I hear they are super super slow to ship unfortunately.

diseda, the best way to "sticky" this thread is to bookmark it in your web browser. Only the moderators of APC can sticky it (meaning keep it at the top of all of the other threads). They have yet to find this thread worthy...

I am still hoping that other people will post their experiences with other products. Only a handful have written reviews, I'd like to see a lot more. Many products that have not been mentioned yet....

People were bashing backpacks in another thread, is the fabric case considered to be too much like a backpack or student flight bag? I haven't noticed anyone admit to using one here.
Well I don't have the exact same one (mine was only $60 after using a coupon code at ebags) but I've seen plenty of pilots rolling them about.. this is hardly backpack/student flight bag-like even though the material used may be similar. As for the fit, I know it fits into a CRJ because I saw the captain had it next to him once when I was jumpseating... but dunno about ERJ.

I use the zipper tie. Problem is, it loosens easily and the "knot" ends up 3-4 inches below your collar and you may not even notice for a while.

You have to replace them every 3-6 months....... IMHO, completely worth it.

im in training and felt the need to resurrect this thread since I found the prices a little extreme for something I dont even want.

If im going to spend that kind of money I at least want to pick out the various items separately on my own

Default Tool Case

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=36871

Let's not forget about this one as a suitable alternate for a flight kit.

$29.99 from Harbor Freight, and it's extremely durable. XJT requires our flight cases to be black, so a can of spray paint and a roll of masking tap does the trick wonderfully.

I'm still using it currently. My only complaint is that its slightly shorter than other flight cases out there.

Imperial,

How do you like it? I've been eyeing that thing for a while and am going to have to pull the trigger on something here in a bit.
