It sounds like you may have had your share of 'extra' experience brought about by your attitude and demeanor.

Kind of like the guy who gets pulled over by the cop who was going to warn him about an inop turn signal...then rolls down the window and tells the cop how he has no right pulling him over, citing the law, constitution, etc....only to leave with the ticket he wasn't going to get.

Of course you may not be like that at all.

I would think the talking with the attorney and the FAA to find out what it is about would not be a big deal.

I'm not seeking advice on what to do. I was inviting interpretations of regulations and law. Can you tell the difference between someone asking for advice and someone who is not?

I don't need a copy of the CVR.

I already know what it's about. I wasn't talking to an attorney and/or FAA to seek to "find out what it is about".

I can't understand how so many readers can't follow the subject matter that was posted in the original post of this thread...Rickair, BiggD and CFIGUY had no problem with this.

Everyone else leaped at the chance to input their unsolicited advice which ranged from paranoia to completely ridiculous suggestions.

I welcome all input regarding my questions concerning 61.3(l) & 61.51(a) , but please try to refrain from offering advice about what I "should" or "should not" do.

The only true means of obtaining an interpretation of 14 CFR is to request it in writing to your local FSDO. Be as specific as possible on the situation. The FSDO will elevate your written request for Legal interpretation to FAA Legal Counsel in DC.

For The 6 pages of material posted here, not enough detail has been provided yet for anyone to give the OP what he is asking for.

On the contrary, CFIGUY, BiigD and Rickair7777 gave me exactly what I was asking for...their interpretation of those regulations.

How can you not understand that simple request?

Apparently not.

How about you share with us what the end game is?

All input regarding the subject of the OP, is welcomed. Is that beyond your understanding or did you interpret "all input" as being an invitation to offer advice about traffic stops & inoperative turn signals?

"end game" isn't relevant to this thread.

This thread has more than run it's course. It is now turning into a garden of trolls slinging unwanted advice and insults.

I got the interpretations and discussions pertinent to the OP that I was seeking and wish to thank those who were capable of maintaining focus on the subject matter in their responses.

Thanks again to CFIGUY, Rickair7777 and BiggD (and anyone else who contributed).

That distinction was not made though was it?
Blanket statements are rarely worth the forum they are written on.
