To be VERY CLEAR

applying to Southern is NOT applying to Atlas. We are years away from any improvement to our CBA. We at Southern will continue to be held to the bankruptcy contract from 2012.

I am in the process of applying for various freight operators and have not done so yet at southern air. Despite what the threads say , just a general question , how does southern air look at candidates with few checkride failures . Is it a deal breaker from their end. Thank you.

I think it's actually a requirement.

That is completely untrue. There is no requirement to have a bust on your record. Never has been.

However, nothing will move your resume to the top of the stack faster.

Except a DUI.

The standards to make it to the line have not and will not change! Ultimately it's up to the pilots you will be flying with as to whether you complete training or not. The Southern pilot group grows more ****ed off everyday. If you are a weak pilot and struggle to make it through training events do not expect any sympathy from the guys who will be stuck carrying you. One or two just washed out of the current newhire class before sims. I wouldn't be surprised to see more failures.

Despite robthree's efforts to paint himself as a far superior pilot who somehow got stuck at Southern with a bunch of misfits, Southern pilots keep trickling away to prime jobs. American was the latest hire. I'm expecting UPS to pick up others.

RobThree is one of the most honest, direct posters on this site. Period.
Sorry if you don't like it.

Since I'm a firm believer in the old adage, "No horse is too dead to beat.", I will say it again; do not apply nor accept an interview or employment at Southern.

Entry standards are dropping at all properties. You are not helping yourself, nor anyone trapped here.

Good luck to all.

The folks in HR are lying to potential candidates. They are telling them they will have a merged CBA by Oct and will have fences to protect them on the 777. They are being told they will make more than an Atlas 767 guy in the long run. DON'T buy their LIE!
