Southern Air Interview
#932
Southern was purchased by Atlas last year and both are hemorrhaging pilots due to work rules and pay.
Thier pay scales are the lowest in the industry for the equipment flown.
Their work rules are hideous.
It may be years before Atlas balls up the courage to negotiate with Southern and Atlas pilots to produce an acceptable contract.
Try your luck anywhere else.
And do your homework before posting. Saves both you and us time.

it used to be 4 months, before Atlas, and when they had planning of brining more 737... all the upgrades made it, but go downside to the right seat.... so I quit when that happened... much happier where I am now...

This thread is hilarious... There isn't a single one of us at Atlas or Southern that recommends these jobs flying Boeing equipment. It's a mistake to come to either and this year is going to be an absolute train wreck for management finding people willing to drive themselves into poverty to fly wide body airplanes!

Atlas is apparently offering their pilot pool Southern 777 class dates if they want it... getting stuffed in the cheapest coach seats available and shipped all around the world isn't fun (I know this first hand), and you'll make more money flying an RJ early on so I'm really not sure why they would.

As Southern is owned by Atlas, anyone interested in working for Southern gets to deal with this stuff:

I was hired for the 777, then guess what ? when inbasic indoc, they gaved me the 737. 7 from our class, 4 of them to the 777, 3 of us into the 737, two of them quit, I quit after a year. F*&* that noice... making more money now flying smaller airplane RJ driver now, better quality of life, flying only during the day time..
