You are lying my friend, stop spreading false rumors. I've been here over 4 years. Company mishaps with hotels and flights happen once in a blue moon, not 10 times in 3 months, and scheduling will fix it when you call them or email. You got company credit card, so stop crying.

Hotel "mishaps" were on a regular basis.

SA from a short timer
I had the opportunity to fly the 777 at SA for a short time. The Hr Department and dispatch were pretty lame compared to my previous airlines. But that is the only negative thing i can say.
On a positive note (listen to BirdStrikes). After getting furloughed, I was fortunate enough to get hired by a Legacy. I learned a ton in my short time (1.5 years at Southern). I flew with Ex SAT, TWA, UAL, ATA, and Aloha guys and gals and they were among the best in the industry, especially when it comes to Int'l flying ops. I have nothing but good say about the professionals at SA and actually miss the job at times. Good Times, Good People. ….A Special Thanks to Spike for showing me BKK.

What matters most is that you understand just what in the hell it is your getting yourself into.
It would be helpful to go back and read well written posts from guys like bird strikes and spike. You really need to educate yourself on what an ACMI carrier is and what it is not. At my interview at Southern, i felt like they just wanted to get to know me and find out if I was flexible enough to handle the demands of a supplemental ACMI carrier. I worked for an ACMI carrier prior so I supposed that helped. I haven't looked at the website, but if you have several thousand hours and an ATP I would think you would be fine.
If you get on, you will be flying with some of the most knowledgeable, skilled dudes in our industry. But it would help to have your sh*t together because there is absolutely zero support from the company when your half way around the world in a 777 over Syria in the middle of the night.

Thinking about it though. I didn't fly the 747 and I know the 747 crews did a lot more adhoc stuff to places I've never heard of so I suppose that could be an issue. Just use that card and have good reasons for your actions.

Believe me, I used the cc plenty, but again, after 15+ hour duty days the last thing you want to have to do is deal with scheduling's ineptitude. We had a running joke that scheduling worked on one time zone, Norwalk, and if you weren't on it, your hotel would be.
I've taken taxis all over cities looking for hotels. I've been rerouted at the last minute on different commercial flights resulting in hours long delays, I've charged airport breakfasts to the card... never a word. Great financial accountability.
I've had beverages with many 777 crews (mostly in LAX, Embassy), and they've always been nice, but it is a COMPLETELY different job.

Potato Chip,
I did get the feeling that it was 3 separate pilot groups as well. Hopefully moving forward, that will improve and there will be some unity. Solidarity is important when dealing with improvements like reliable nice hotels and holding on to the real perks like the home-basing. Take care and best of luck to you all!
Hey Spike and alpa80r. Did you get my p.m.'s? Im afraid I'm a dunce at it and they may not have sent. Thx.
