Another economics 101 class. ........If everyone stands up we will all
improve the profession. The Allegiant pilots don't have scope either
and I support there efforts 100%. DHL has created a problem by
interfering in our collective bargaining efforts. Maybe just maybe
a unified front will bend the curve.

I would expect to see another 777 new hire class sometime in the next few months. Nothing "official" regarding the next 777 class has been announced.
We were crewed for 5 777's but 8 777 pilots (plus 4 B737 FO's) just bid to upgrade on the B737. In addition, I expect to see a few 777 FO's leave for legacy carriers or other greener pastures. Latest intel told to one of our 777 Captains by a deadheading DHL manager was to expect to see the fifth 777 in June vs. July.
If you want to fly the 777 around the world or want a quick path to upgrade on the B737 I would not cancel an interview. Take the interview and see what is offered. However, read thoroughly through all of the previous posts and make sure this is a job you want.

I'll go on record and say I expect to see direct hire captains, or at least 2015 hires, in the left seat of the B737 by the end of the year. There are very few FO's already hired that did not have the chance to upgrade with this last bid. However, my prediction on this forum is worth exactly what you paid for it...$0.00 If I could predict the future I would not be where I am now...heck...I probably would have chosen a completely different career.
The one thing I can say for certain though, and anyone else that has worked for a supplemental will agree with, is that plans change weekly at companies like SAI, K4, Atlas, etc.
If was in the CP's position I would not commit to giving an upgrade time either. Saying "I don't know" is the most honest answer he can give you. Every employment decision you make is a gamble. Just ask the bottom 100 at UPS or the last 24 that they recently hired and gave class dates to only to turn around and say "Sorry! Your class has been canceled".
Upgrade at SAI has varied from direct entry to 9 year captains being downgraded to the right seat to very junior FO's getting the chance to upgrade on the B737. DHL and SAI will still add B737's. No one else will do it as cheap. As long as Southern can still find a way to move the freight DHL will be happy.

I agree with Birdstrike that we may see another 777 class in the near term. I would also not be surprised to NEVER get a 5th 777. Direct entry 737 Captains? I'm less certain. Any 737 FO will get a chance, as very few 777 FOs are willing to take the pay and QOL hit for the type and time. I imagine the 737 will remain a revolving door so long as there is ANY other opportunity out there. Because anything else will be better.
Southern's DO was reported shocked that the 5 CA's who quit on the same day were all going to fly MD-11s for the Neffs. Guys who know exactly how rough working for the Neffs can be. How difficult 3rd World ACMI flying really is. How long 20+ days on the road without seeing the US is. As bad as all that can be, it is still better than working for Southern on the 737.

ATI voted down, resoundingly, the first shot at an LoA, which was presented under an attempted "do it now now now" stiff-arm tactic, and which "offered" CVG basing, cut rate pay, reduced vacation, and training on days off. Like that was going to float...
After the rejection, a second LoA was quickly drafted that fixed all but the pay, which was increased a bit. It was good enough to result in ratification, but SAI was awarded the contract.
I believe that ABX, to their credit, did not even present the LoA to their crew members, as it was so substandard that their EXCO didn't even feel it was worthy of consideration.

Sounds like they will have a hard time hiring, you actually make more at the regionals if all you get is 60 hours per month at Southern. This just doesn't make much sense, even for regional FOs. They need to at least home base 737 guys. At least...
