Ditto, BRD. I try to pick up some of these open time trips, but I never get them... Yet, I was sent home business class from Europe when I asked to extend my pattern (VX) to complete the trip. How many of those emails come out every day? Clogs my account!
Although not in "official" CBA negotiations, what if we took a page from our FedEx bubbas/bub-ettes right now and unite as a group to NOT VX anymore? No more VX, no more out-base... Just the line awarded, no more, no less. I will refrain, if we decide as a pilot group to do so.

Shoot, I don't VX now. I put a filter on the company e-mail that send anything with the words "Open Time" into my junk folder.

Thanks for the offer but it looks like the consensus is to have it remain here. I imagine this thread is now in the 'favorites list' of a good many folks and it's probably more convenient to have this excellent source of information stay in place where it is..

A lot of pilots associate Atlas Air with cargo. So you know, in case you want to come here to "escape" passenger flying: When I was flying the Hajj I was told the long-term plan for Atlas was to be 70% passenger/30% freight, at some point. A few pilots have confirmed they also heard that from mgmt pilots during road shows.

Sounds like we had a number of no shows to our last new hire class. Doesn't make any sense, Mr. C said that Atlas was a top tier destination airline... huh....
Even the majors are feeling it: Some pilots have class dates for UAL/AA/DAL...two of the three are getting a "Sorry I will not be in class" phone call.

I have a general question about getting pages added to a passport... Has anyone done this in Shanghai? I have a 60 hour layover there next week and need to get it done. I know folks have done this in Hong Kong and other locations, but my schedule has me in/out of HK with insufficient time to get it done. Any thoughts/suggestions from the vets, for a rookie on this topic? TIA.

It has been done without a problem, but I would not put too much faith in other peoples experiences for the simple reason that the rules and process seem to keep changing.
Ref the link, you need to make an appointment at the consulate and have the paperwork with you. I would grab a taxi to and from the hotel, but YMMV. Put any charges for the pages on the company card.
