Atlas Air Hiring
#8221
Jumpseating on Atlas is a great experience if you're an RJ guy, especially the ORD/JFK to HNL/SYD, etc trips...remember, however, a lot of our flights go in one direction and continue on. Meaning, you'll have to find a different way back from HNL because the aircraft continues to SYD/MEL. Of course, you can continue from SYD to HKG/PVG to ANC and ORD.

Add another base to our choices
Just announced . . . PAE (Everett, Washington) Effective for August flying to support the LCF.
15 CA
20 FO
Nothing was said if this means additional hiring or anything just putting out there what's official.
Of course, you know Atlas can change your schedule any way they want but I see this as positive news for a few folks I know. Springer?????
So who knows how senior it will go.

How did this get announced? Can't find anything on global net but the standing bid site has it... Email?

Nice west Coast gig popping up. Scheduled flights to the orient and points beyond...
A flying club coming to Atlas. This will alter the demographics in some bases.
Doubtful it will skew the hiring any but will definitely rearrange seniority in some (all) of the bases.
Cheers to the new base holders in PAE!

Anyone care to guess what the lines will look like at PAE? More or less hours/rig for a junior FO currently at ANC? I'm currently seeing about 75-80/month at ANC. I'd love to to Everett but I'd hate to take a pay cut.

Atlas Jumpseat
I've jumpseated on Atlas a few times. Always a great ride but it does require just a little more work than the standard show up and list for a jumpseat. The Polar website does not show all Atlas flights. Also their schedule is subject to change so always have a backup. The way I've done it is fill out the online form on Atlas website, where it asks for a flight number just put an x. When you get to the bottom of the form there is a spot for additional information. I just simply state when and where I'm trying to go and if there are any flights that would fit my schedule.
You will normally receive a confirmation email from Atlas with the flight number and departure time the following day. I responded to the email and asked how to get to the aircraft in Santiago, Chile on my last trip. They sent me the phone number for Atlas Operations in Santiago. I called the number the day of departure and I met the crew and an Atlas rep in the Departure Hall of SCL where I was escorted through customs, immigration, and security.
All in all pretty easy you just have to ask the right questions.
