I'm glad it's a complete thread with much information on hiring and everything you would want to know about Atlas. So let's get back to one thread. This entitlement generation that think they can't take the easy road is disgusting. Grow a pair and read the thread if you truly are Atlas material I believe you would read the thread. I'm certainly not trying to take any shortcuts, I stay up on the thread, attend job fairs, update my profile and hope to someday get called by Atlas. What have you done lately, other than whine about reading the thread?
I'm going to echo PotatoChip and say that you should chill out with the "entitlement generation" schtick. You don't yet know what "Atlas material" is, much less whether or not reading the thread has any bearing on your employment potential (I'm a second year Atlas guy and I probably read 1/3 of it before I was hired).

Look up the information you need using KTYBYRD's handy-dandy index, and just relax. The last person any of us wants in the cockpit is someone spouting off against what he feels is the "entitlement generation" (I'm 30, so yes, you're probably trying to lump me into that group). Your attitude will determine whether or not you're hired, not the number of MegaThread™ pages you've read.

You are welcome, WARich, for the information. It is nice to have our contributions noticed and appreciated. Personally, during my pursuit of a job with Atlas I had a tremendous amount of help from posters on this thread and, with no practical way to pay them back (other than the obligatory beer), I simply "pay it forward" to the next wave of new hires. Interestingly, the general tone of this thread mirrors the tone on the line. Line pilots seem to excel at assisting and supporting each other which is a tremendous help when rapidly changing events start to stack up against you (which seems to be SOP during many of our operations).

Keep the faith. 29 more retirements to go this year, 31 next year. Adding the 3 GSS -8's this year, 24 more new hires just announced. It's not explosive growth, but it's growth. Keep updating. Attend the job fairs that Atlas attends. Stay current. And stay informed.

Good luck.

No upgrades in the bid, so I'll go with "Covering Attrition of FO's for 500, Alex".

Cheers.

That, and 3 -8s we weren't expecting.

Who said they were incremental adds instead of trading out for 3 -400's?

No customer announcements...

I believe that they announced at the ANC crew meeting where the 3 -8s are heading to existing customers.

Great! So are they incremental adds to the customer or are they displacing 3 400's? Lord knows they need a win to announce since the stock price is getting flogged like a rental car with full insurance.

Also, why aren't there 25 upgrades to staff all the extra jets?

During our new hire meet n greet with Jeff Carlson a classmate asked this question and he stressed that the -8's were growth airplanes, not replacements.

Word on the street is two are going to MIA with one still looking for a dancing partner.

That information and a dollar gets you a cup of coffee.

What's the difference between a rental car and a 4X4?
There are some places you wouldn't take a 4X4.....
Seriously guys, I'm new here but I did attend the "WIA" conference and felt that they took me seriously. I so much want to work for Atlas, even more so after talking to the recruiters!
This would be my first "airline" job, although I have a combined 4 years of tour based 135 work with both NetJets and TMC Jets.
Any advice from HR, new hires, senior captains, or even folks that were rejected by Atlas would be helpful.

Gosh, some people are such a buzz-kill.

Yes, no upgrades for those of us who would really like to see them right now, immediately. Buuuut, 24 new hires ought to be of some interest and encouragement to all the interested applicants who are gunning for a seat in an Atlas cockpit.
