Atlas Air Hiring
#7431
Interviewees who have been called in have qualifications all over the board and there seems to be no pattern or discernible logic that we have been able to identify.
I can say with some certainty however, that absolutely everyone who has been interviewed in the past five years has actually submitted their information package to Atlas HR. For some strange reason, Atlas never seems to call pilots who have not.

You guys are getting all wrapped up in terminology...ACMI is how Atlas started, but ACMI is not all we do anymore (as ATC pointed out above)...
And this is the very reason we are alive and kicking...while several of our competitors are now gone, or are on their way out.
So, call it what you want, but the innovation, the tough decisions, and yes I'll join ATC in calling it long-term planning, are the reasons you will see a profit sharing check...how many of our competitors will see one of those?!!

I've only been here 3 years but something is brewing one way or another around here. There were no good rumors forever and now it's going crazy from what I've been hearing. All realms covered. The good (777's, -8 options), the bad (losing 767 growth to southern?!?), and the ugly (being bought by somebody). Sounds like somebody is having fun with me on the last two rumors but just relaying what I'm hearing...

Wow, those are some whoppers (the last two that is)...please don't fall for all that noise. The 777s, or even the -8 options?...very possible (no, I don't have any double-secret info!!) based on all that even the company has done with those two programs.
But, I'll believe it when I'm sitting on a runway waiting for takeoff clearance in one of the above mentioned rumored aircraft...until then, it is all fiction, even the 777s and the -8 options.

I think the DAL one is funny; especially since the pilots there at Grits Central insisted that NWA's cargo ops go away since they wouldn't fly mixed lines. ("Real pilots" don't fly cargo...it's in the memo)
Like 744 said, believe it when you hear, "positive rate, gear up"...

Southern is in fact banking on some 76 growth for DHL. This came from a high ranking executive.
Wether it is at the cost of Atlas, I'm not sure. I'd venture a guess and say ABX will be the victim. And the race to the bottom will continue.

Entirely possible. The folks in Germany were not happy at all with the way Hete screwed around with the pilots and the $75 (?) million.

NOT till you're actually past V1 and taking the plane flying does it count that you get to fly a new airframe
