2. The Atlas hiring process seems to be designed to provide equal chance for all that apply not giving one group advantage over another, example military vs corporate vs regional.. If you meet the published minimums to apply you have the same advantage over the next person that applied, security clearance is not a requirement nor is a 4 year degree, it's just extra that might catch the eye during resume review is all. There have been times where a 767 rating gave someone an advantage however so it has happened during times of need. Atlas is one of the few employers that does not seem to put you at the bottom of the stack if you don't have recency of experience, which is rare in this industry.

Thanks for the quick and cordial response! Its my first time posting on these forums. I have a friend over there now that likes it a lot, and another that worked there for almost 20 years; he's since left but had good things to say.

Fly safe.

Lates info from management is little to no growth next year. So I guess little hiring for next year. Unless they need for attrition.

The company just recently/formally said how much they valued internal pilot recs for new folks and that over 90% of those hired lately had an internal rec and we should keep them coming.

I personally expect hiring to continue on/off predicated upon increased demand in CY14. Although I am sure a dozen folks here will disagree.

I agree with you Rhino in that the hiring will resume for early '14 classes...

It certainly does, but a call for a class would make us happier! :-)

Once the other airlines start spooling up hiring, probably will be much easier to get a call here. I imagine attrition off of the list in the bottom third as well.

I know there's been a question in the past about the internal recs and that at one time it was only good after you received the invite. How is it these days? and how does the rec get the rec to the correct person to pair up with your app?

When the crew member submits the rec internally, we attach a resume and use the same name/format as when the applicant submits the PAQ, so I figure when HR gets the rec, they pair them up. The point made just recently was that while 90% of new hires since 2010 have had internal recs, with 1,000 pilots, they've received many more recs than there are available slots.
