How long has that rumor been around? Anything substantial out there indicating it could be more of a rumor?

Union and Company jointly published an MOU for the introduction of the 777, should such an event take place.

The hiring window will be slamming shut REAL soon for the rest of the year so get your stuff in now.

I heard this also. So is the rumor of a late October class seen unlikely to be true at this point?

Honest question. If the window is shutting, why get your stuff in? If Atlas isn't hiring until they open the window again what's the point?

I really am curious....

The hiring usually seems to slow down in the fourth quarter because the flying does as well. That may not mean that the interviewing, testing and pool initiations slow down as much; just that the class dates do. Historically, this is the period when the folks in the training center get out into the world to fly a bit.

The flying does not slow down in the 4th quarter. It is the global shipping busy season. Why else would UPS and Fedex use us for additional lift in the 4th quarter only?

There is no certain confirmation as to whether Atlas will or will not interview, hire, or start new classes for the remainder of 2013.

In the past (2010), Atlas announced no new classes at the end of the summer only to hold classes into December of that year. Things can and do change. Frequently. One of the greatest strengths that Atlas has is the ability and willingness to remain flexible in order to take maximum advantage of significant opportunities when they arise; sometimes with extremely short notice.

The window is still open.

Atlas Air, Inc.

Apply now.

Heard standing bid is being updated in Oct/Nov to add another aircraft. If that is true, I highly doubt hiring will slow.
