Totally worth $270.

Not trying to be an a**. Just being honest. Good for you for going and doing everything you can. I wish I could have attended, but considering it would have been a sick call, and 14% of my current monthly income it wasn't possible.

Wish it were different. Good luck to everyone who honestly wants to work at Atlas. Feeling more and more like buying a lottery ticket.

I agree, it really is like winning the lottery! If and/or when Atlas calls, after I do the dance, I'll go out and purchase a lottery ticket.

The WAI conference was expensive, but worth it. I made a lot of good contacts, learned quite a bit and hope it helps in landing somewhere.

Thanks for response. Lucky to do 2 locals a month at 4 to 5 hours each and a trip every other month. I can get SIM time but that doesn't seem to factor in much. Did about 50 hours in Afghanistan earlier this month and enjoyed the longer/better runways than were there in 2002. Rode back with Atlas rotator and spoke to several pilots during cruise. Sent my app in last week as well and will update monthly.

Yes we flew together on the rotator and if he was flying out of OKAS then know him from our time there. I stayed on the plane after landing in BWI and met the captain in the cockpit and walked off the jet with the crew so I was one of the last to the customs area. Would like to hear more about Atlas when you have time.

The flying in HSV seems pretty varied. In general the patterns start/end in HSV but the lines seem to a lot because it's not the regimented DHL flying. Out of 6 months on the line, I've started in HSV 2 times and never finished a pattern there. One of the drawbacks is that the trips start early in the Z day, so you are starting the day before (local time).

Scored an interview for next week. The test was tough but not terrible, thanks to all that tread before me. At the end of my test when I hit submit I was shown a list off the questions I had incorrectly answered, from what I have read this may be a newer feature to the test. I did have a couple of minutes remaining when I hit submit and this may be what allowed me to see the results, I don't know. Any recent interviewees have any information to add onto this wonderful thread about the Miami portion of the process? Thanks again to all who have added to this thread.

Very well said ATC. That first impression in the phone interview really is a sink or swim. Maybe not the best or worst way, but it is how Atlas does it. A cover letter is a nice touch, but definatley not required. Don't work too hard on being an author of a great cover letter. They will like you when they make that first call.

This has been mentioned before, but I'll say it again. As noted above, the phone interview is VERY important. Don't take the call if you have kids running around or you're driving in traffic or running to catch a flight. You want to be able to give your full attention to the call. Kindly decline and set a time that works for you, they will understand.
