Now, with that said, there was a period when the classes every three weeks were filled with Classic Pilots transitioning to the 747-400 rather than filling them with new-hires. They still ran them every three weeks...

Hey Tdubs!
See you on the 15th! Sounds like a very small class.
For the tie thing.... My first invitation to interview was in Jan, it had the business casual note. My second after Jan cancelled, for August interview had no note about a dress code. I don't know, but maybe it is because it became such an issue that they got sick of what do I wear calls to HR, and they dropped it?
Just me, but if there is no mention in the letter I would wear my best suit and tie, worked for me.

With regard to the dress code, one of my friends called and was told, "Wear what you think is appropriate." I've never gone tie-less to an interview, so I went with what I knew. 10 of 11 in my group wore ties. Not everyone wore suits (I didn't), but I wore a jacket, slacks (didn't match jacket) , button-down shirt (not white) and tie. Apparently it didn't count against me too bad.

I agree. In the past year and a half, Atlas has run a class every three weeks regardless of the time of year, etc. Let me repeat: EVERY THREE WEEKS.
Now, with that said, there was a period when the classes every three weeks were filled with Classic Pilots transitioning to the 747-400 rather than filling them with new-hires. They still ran them every three weeks...

Four other guys in my interview group just got the pool e-mail today, and so far nobody has admitted to getting a class date if they got one. That makes a total so far of five of eleven in the pool.

Got the pool email today. I'm in! No class date yet. I speculate that the 15 Oct class is full since it's inside of 2 weeks away.
Hope to meet you guys soon.
3,000+ total, all mil (C-21/C-5 IP), CFII, MEI, no tie
