On the "Do I really want to work for Atlas question?" Do yourself a huge favor and ignore the equipment. Would you want this job if it were well maintained some other type airplanes? After a month or two the 74 is just another airplane, there is nothing magical about it. For me, the best part is the upper deck. If you want this job just for the airplane you will be miserable quick.
On the other hand, if the lifestyle fits you, I think you would be hard pressed to do better on the "I like my job" part. Money, that's another story. Take a hard look in the mirror and then decide.

Bingo! Well said, Whale. I know few folks who, when it's time to go to work, say "Excellent! I get to go to work now!" I'm one of them. And as to the money part..... It's all relative . As a second year F/O last year I made the same as a 13 year 737 captain did back at ATA.

Equipment is only a secondary product remaining from the original question "what do I want to do for a living". Flying is flying, but loving to go to work each and every trip is the greatest thrill. Personally, I'd rather fly an Airbus over a Boeing, but no company can offer that position in the type of flying that I want to pursue. But hey, to get a 74 type and maybe later a 76 type and have a blast at work? What more could you ask for?

I know the wait is killing all of us. Has anybody that went to the WIA conference back in March received a call? Email? Text? Morse code? anything?
I think the power button on my phone is getting ready to go out from turning it on and off so many times to check it.

At least one WIA attendee that I know of has received a phone interview.
