Atlas Air Hiring
#4001
A few years ago I jump seated from NRT-ORD and handed the crew some treats. The Captain (Captain Green...spell check) and crew were top-notch. However, I learned quickly that cooking skills were a must. The Captain welcomed me and asked his #1 to check my credentials and give me the safety briefing. He then turned and asked how I liked my burger (he was cooking for the crew). This crew was awesome, and it remains one of my favorite jumpseating flights.
I saw a lot of relaxed professionalism on this flight----folks making things happen. No tension. Great chaps....and I sense this is the magic .
So, I am fully qualified to operate the oven/coffee pot on the aircraft. In addition, that grill in the MIA arena will be taken care of with love should I be brought to the school. Selfishly, I am a bit of a devil-----my diet plan includes feeding you more calories than I take in. I cook very well for others-----references available.
Looking forward to making the cut-----and getting my new friends properly fed & hydrated. I'm here for you.

Hello everyone. I'm a newbie on here and have been following the threads for a while now. I'm just curious, if someone was going to get a call after submission of the PAQ and resume, what is the average time frame to get that call? Atlas appears to be a great company and I am hoping to get a call. Thanks in advance.

I think you'd better not plan for that call to come immediately.
Your response time will vary from a few days to around year with a majority being at least weeks or months away. The response to my many resumes was nearly nine months, so if you're sitting around the phone all day, unplug the charger and get mobile and get patient. Very patient.
And read through this thread if you haven't already done so. You'd better be prepared to field the call on the first try and if you're away from your phone, leave a message that you are flying and will return the call asap. They seem to really like eager and enthusiastic applicants.

Thank you 8. Thats great info. Hopefully the phone will ring sooner than later. In the mean time, I will keep plugging away. Is Atlas still making prospects do the on line testing? I have heard that it was on its way out? any intel on that would be great. Thanks again!!

The latest calls for interviews seem to have gone to guys that have already taken the phone interview, and the on line technical test.
I don't know if a new round of calls have started yet...and what the latest gouge on that is, who knows?
My guess however is that the process that they have established since we started this hiring cycle (in April or so of 2010) will largely remain the same...they seem to have had some good results in screening and selecting some great people.
Good luck.

just saw the -800 in VHHH as I was taxing out. Looked really good! Will the -400 be know as "the classic" at atlas since the 200s are parked? I've been updating for 2.5 years, still wold love to get a call for an interview/start the process.
