True, chip1. But then those that have a 757/767 Type Rating are no longer swimming anyway...all the guys in the pool likely don't have the light-twin rating.

I probably got my stuff in too late, but I'm a current 767 guy who hasn't gotten the call, much less into a pool. Hopefully soon.

I heard the next 76 class (9 Apr for new hires) was 50/50 classic guys and 76 typed folks. Classes after that might have non typed new hires.

Stupid predictive text function on IPad won't keep up....

Thanks for the heads up. I'm just a retired AF heavy guy without the 75/76 type waiting my turn. It seems most of the Atlas guys on this thread have close ties with management/training and unique insights to what is going on internally. I'm trying to gleam as much as possible from you guys and appreciate the input.

Classic???? There are no new classes for the Classic(the 747-200). In fact there are no more Classics.

Right, so the next 767 class is filled with 50% guys transitioning from the classic and 50% new hires that have 76 experience already.

Saw a beautiful -400 in Manas a couple days ago parked next to our C-5. My crew was saying that they had better keep an eye on my bags because I might take off on them. I don't think they were joking....

C'mon over. There's always extra seats and catering.
( ... and if you think the 400 looks good, wait 'till you see the -8's )

How are the 76 operations going so far? Any other inputs as far as trips, schedule, RONs, and QOL? Any other notes as to fleet growth, projected classes (sizes), etc. appreciated. I understand the operations are still evolving, but I am hoping to fuel more discussion on probably one of the best and most professional threads on APC to date (IMHO)! Thanks.

SLOW. Six months in, half of our current 767 FOs have yet to see the plane. It makes sense - first they focused on getting check airman checked out, then captains, then a handful of FOs with previous 767/AMC experience (although many more previous 767 guys are still sitting at home). You do domestic OE before international, and with only one DHL route, there's only room for a handful of crews. It'll get better as we get more airplanes, but trips/schedule/QOL are all chaotic at the moment.

As for fleet size, a total of 5 DHL birds and 3 -300ERs this year. As of today, 2 300s and 1 DHL currently on property.

I'd heard of two 767 classes before June, now I hear it's 3. 12 is a typical size.

Understand that this is all new airplane growing pains. DHL flights are the same old, same old every night. It's only chaotic now as they plug different guys in/out to get OE.
