Great idea...no more business plans, speculation, and arguing about mergers.

But, beware...this can all be put under the "why Atlas" question you are surely going to get when you interview. It might show how much you really know about the company that you want to spend the next few years (or more) of your life.

It is not the nuts and bolts of the hiring, interviewing, etc process, but that has basically slowed to a crawl anyway...I'm sure when the phone calls (and FedEx letters) start for the February interview candidates, we'll all know about it. And the discussion will shift to the intent of the thread on its own...

Good luck.

AGflyer, I feel your pain, although I've been waiting less time than you. I flew my last Herk sortie a week ago; retirement ceremony tomorrow. I'm starting to get a little nervous about what to do if I don't get called by Atlas or anyone.

Thanks for the clarification.

Doomed. Congrats on your retirement. Kinda of a crazy time but reaching your retirement is great milestone for you.

Thank you, that's how I wanted to respond. ALL information is good, some is direct, some is indirect/collateral. Yet it helps to paint a picture of somewhere people may be wanting to work.

Besides, for those that have been following this thread since it started, it wasn't that long ago there was "speculation", "rumor", or whatever else about new fleets types for Atlas. And now look where some folks are sitting, as well as being hired into ;-)

Here's to hoping the the swimmers get pulled, the Feb interview guys get the good news, and interviewing/hiring picks up again.

Look, I'm not critiquing Atlas in any way, shape or form. This is more about the assets that may become availible to Atlas in the near future and how the Global Ch. 11 seems to have packaged them to be attractive to a carrier like Atlas.

Of all the charter/ACMI operators, Atlas seems to be the one the Global guys are setting up their program to sell it to. No one has to defend Atlas, its business plan or its success to me. I'm just hypothesizing based on the changes Global has made to both World and NAA.

Sorry if the intent was misunderstood.

Congrats on reaching retirement. I think we're in the same boat - the majors aren't hiring and we're too experienced to be considered by most of the smaller companies. I just got a rejection letter from a regional Fed Ex feeder operation flying ATRs. I just wish I had more marketable skills other than flying airplanes for two decades. Good luck with your job search.
