Regarding the cargo carve out, do we qualify as cargo per se? We obviously have other ops and I read, make that skimmed on my iPhone, somewhere in the new regs that it was all or nothing on the new regs. Ie company can't have one flight under old rest rules and another under new rest rules. Again, just skimmed briefly.

Well just to add the latest to the incredible general fund of info here.
Got a call from out of the blue and did the phone interview this morning and got the link to the test and the other background info.
No gouge on what interview dates they're getting folks together for but at least the first part of the process is alive and well.
To forstall the inevitable questions, C-5 guy/3,000+/1,300+ Hvy PIC/ 1 internal rec

Congrats... that is good news for those starting the initial phase of the process. By the way, the inside word is that everything is scored and we're all racked and stacked with a magical number connected to our performance... with the face-to-face carrying the most weight. A couple of the pilot candidates that really "nailed" the interview got a call for a class date right away... the rest of us got sent for a swim in the "hiring pool." Not sure on which page it is, but I posted all that I could remember from my actual interview and I know others have posted some questions one can expect. Good luck...

I think their thinking on drawing from the pool may now be based on training efficiency/convenience....A friend was in a recent class, called right after interview, and he and four other 757/767-type rated guys were paired with 5 non-type-rated guys. The non-typed guys sat left seat throughout training, the 757/767-typed guys sat right seat, as they only had to do a FO P/C. The non-typed guys had to prep for a PIC type rating, so they got good time and prep in the correct seat. So there apparently may be some method to the madness.

Relative FNG 400 F/O here, I've heard some speculation on the line that not every classic driver will come over to the 400, some may head for the 767 and I have also heard some of the older guys might just hang it up instead of going thru another long term training event that internally to Atlas seems to have a much worse reputation than the classic training program. By all accounts the classic schoolhouse is considered a gentleman's course and the 400 less so.
It also seems that the OE pipeline is super slow, I was told recently the average wait is up to two months.
Keep the thread alive guys, I was studying it thoroughly about this time last year, and here I am just finishing up my 6 month recurrent ride. Good luck to those that want to join the party, and Merry Christmas

Then I seriously doubt they'll come to the 767. The 767 training is about as far from a gentleman's course as you can get. I'm hopeful they get it in-house sooner rather than later. Our class started a week after a 747 class but finished a week ahead of them. The only advantage I saw was that Boeing doesn't know Atlas manuals, therefore we weren't responsible for them (other than FCOM I/II). On the down side, the Oral was 100% systems, and it went pretty deep.

There are a few -200 CA's that will ride it to the end and retire, but some nearing 65 may also be bought off to save the training slot. In reality, its a SWAG.
The -200 FO's will mostly all bump into the -400, but having the opportunity to be in the top 5-6 on a fleet (767) might be too tempting.
