You know like the football players, after a successful flight we have the right to run up to each other and jump in the air and bump off each other.
No it means if a position is eliminated like the 200 leaving and someone is junior in seniority on the 400 you can bump him down and take his place. And the person on the bottom rung could be displaced to the 767.

744driver,
Reference your passage below from an earlier post, will folks treading water "in the pool" be intermixed into the 744 and 767 classes with the 200 pilots expected to make the transition internally? Will the pipeline de-clog any time soon? Any insights you can offer is greatly appreciated.
As for hiring...I think the training pipeline is clogged up right now, and likely to remain so as 200 pilots transition to the 744 or 767. IMHO, the Classics are likely to stay until the B747-8 delivery schedules are firmed up by Boeing and Atlas.

Remember, anything posted on this or any other thread is pure speculation. Us line guys don't really see the big picture, and I bet the third floor (management) doesn't know when the classics will be parked.
We have a few things to deal with. A couple more 744's will show up soon, some more 767's and then the -8's start arriving in the summer. You do the math. Only five classics to park, and a few of those guys will call it quits. Oh and we have a BUNCH of Boeing Bucks to spend, so that could come in the form of new 767-300ER's down the road. We shall see.

chip1,
whaledriver is absolutely spot on in his answer...in fact, I just saw yesterday two new aircraft appear on our schedule. I am speculating here but these are the two that are coming back to us from British Airways since they are taking delivery of our B747-8 (through our Global Supply Systems subsidiary).
Additional airframes are rumored but there is no way to know that until we start flying them whether they are 744, 747-8, or 767...new, used, converted pax to -F, etc.
It is all rumor until proven otherwise by press release, flight schedule, etc.
Good luck.
