Haven't seen anyone speak of the essay portion of the interview process in quite some time here on the thread; is that still a portion of the interview? If so, can anyone who's recently interviewed give some examples of questions? Also, has the Tech interview portion stayed true to form with the tech interview being a recap of your online tech test?
Resume in now for just over 6 weeks, expecting (hopefully) a call at around the 4 month time. I've been a Regional guy now for over 12 1/2 yrs, a change in scenery is needed, and from what I've seen, the scenery outside an ATLAS aircraft is QUITE NICE!!!

Is 4 months about how long it takes to get a call after submitting the resume now? I've read through the whole thread (twice actually) and saw that people were getting the call anywhere from a few hours after submitting it to almost a year later.
I've been doing the regional thing for almost 10 years now and am ready for a change. Honestly I didn't even consider Atlas until a few weeks ago, but the more I look into it the more I think I'll like it. It seems like a good company with a very bright future. I don't have any internal recommendations, over-water experience or heavy time, but I have been a check airman for a while so we'll see if that's enough to get a call.
Good luck to everyone else. Now I'll go back to staring at my phone hoping for it to ring.

Just interviewed yesterday the 23rd. All the information here helped. I would love to work here even more after seeing what I saw and heard yesterday. Sounds like 3 new hire classes a month starting next month. A great place for a career. Also they suspect in house 767 sim at some point. Classics are suppose to be around at least 24 months. Atlas just did all major checks on them. All the people super great here. Had a blast during the whole process, even though most of us where still nervous. Be yourself, study what you can, if you don't know, DON'T Bluff. Be teachable and express a genuine interest in working here. They said 2 weeks email and or fedex package. Hoping to hear the good news. Good luck to all. If anyone has any questions pm me.

rflight2u I hate to pile on here, but with you having interviewed so recently (congrats on getting that far so far), your insight would be invaluable. I am in the same boat that twoshadesblue is in, in that I can't PM just quite yet, so can I jump on the rflight2u Atlas interview town hall band-waggon and get some important interview process information personally? That would be Greatly appreciated! [email protected]. Thanks again for offering up to give out some very important information to help all the Atlas potential New Hires.

Pilots helping pilots, nice job guys. This is beyond the scope of what we can do from the inside...you are the ones living through the process. So, it is great that you are keeping in touch with each other.
However, to make this easier, why not post a detailed summary of your interview here on this thread?
Good luck.

I will just post some of the highlights here for all to see, hope that it helps others studying for any upcoming interviews.
HR:
Why Atlas?
How will you deal with 17-21 days gone a month?
What professional Adjustments will you have to make to be successful?
How does your family feel of you being gone 17-21 Days a month?
Drunk Captain Question?
Have you traveled internationally?
What will you do on your overnights?
What makes a bad pilot?
APPS out other places?
Are you familiar with the gateway program?
Why would you want to work here, and not JetBlue?
What is the dumbest mistake you have made in flying?
How would you feel of sitting in the right seat for 10 years?
How would you mentor another pilot wanting to work here?
Resume Review:
Went over resume and asked about any violations. Also wanted to know what I had done to prepare for the interview. He wanted to know what things professionally would I do to prepare for this job, if hired. And then he wanted to know what specific books I used to study/ and would use for future reference. This was a quick season and all straight forward.
Technical
Had a great learning experience during this part. Went over my online test and asked if I had any questions or comments on what I had missed. Also wondered what resources I had used to study those questions.
What is the holding speed at 5000', 7500', 14,000'+ ?
On approach plate what are the min. to land?
What are the Min to file as an alt.
What alt. is the FAF @? pulled out several different approach plates for this.
What does the MSA circle protect you from?
What are red circles on Airport Diagram? Hot spots
Read International Notams and WX
What is the diff. between Becoming and Tempo?
How do you get off NAT Tracks?
What is BCFG stand for in WX report?
How long is a TAF good for?
There where a few more. I know that I missed a couple due to stress. Oh well, it was a good learning experience and after talking to others that did the tech. It sounded like we all missed 2-3 each.

We where given pins and pads to write on... the subject was on " describe notam's their classes. And whether we thought the system was good or bad. And some changes that we would make to the system.
There is really no way to prepare for this. Just write what you can and try and convey a clear thought. Even if it means that it is a simple one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After lunch and paperwork. We all did a tour of the facilities. Atlas has a terrific training center, and after seeing everything. It makes me want to work here even more. The people here are all energetic and excited about the future of Atlas. Also talked to a couple line pilots, they had nothing but good things to say about their experiences flying the line.
I would say to the person interested in this place, first determine if you can live with this schedule, second be willing put for the effort to study and convey your enthusiasm to work there. I didn't get the impression they are looking for perfect, or someone that can recite every rule or reg. They want someone who is fun, energetic about their job, knows how to work hard and study, and someone that goes with the flow. They want to know that you are self motivated to learn, and that you will go the extra mile whenever possible.
Hope that this helps,
Cheers..
