Enjoying the new plane?

I agree. I mean, I don't actively look to do a landing, but I always check the other crews expirations to see who is first. If I am first or second I will try to get the landing. If not, I will let someone else have it. I doubt I will have an issue with upgrade since I have already done 5 years as a 767 captain at another airline.

Sometimes on a long, all you want to do is Autopilot and Chill…..

For real, if I wasn’t flying I was trying to work the 4th seat.

Work:

"I'll do the logbook when I'm up there, left bunk, wake me up when it's time, see ya".

If I'm not flying, that's usually what I want to do. Keeps you awake and somewhat proficient on things.

Is it possible, or feasible to work for Atlas and live in Europe? If yes is it easy? or a nightmare?

Default Commuting From Europe

Depends on where in Europe you want to live. Company won't gateway you from Europe, so you have to get yourself to the States, then you can gateway to base. Jump Seat on company metal, or buy a ID90 confirmed seat on Lufthansa... or use miles, or try to Jump on DL, UA, or AA.

I am commuting from the Frankfurt area, we have two flights a week to and from ORD. HHN has regular flights to GSP and occasionally RFD but Hahn is inconvenient to get to.

Amsterdam is also an alright option as we have flights to MIA, two or three a week.

Big note of caution. We DH crews on these flights so space may not be available. Best to plan ahead and leave yourself a few options. Our routes can also change month-to-month.

With DHL flying Eastbound there is a few more options to get home. Leipzig daily 77 from LAX and occasional 74 and 77 flights out of CVG of Leipzig.

I have questioned my decision making a few times. So far the commute is working, but it isn't easy.

Which home base do you select for commuting? Do they let you request a change of flight from your home base in the USA to a flight from Europe if it is cheaper?
