This week a 74 class started on Monday, and a 76 class on Tuesday. What you saw was probably both classes, as there are 15 76 and 30+ 74 in those classes.

You can absolutely get widebody. The folks getting sent to the 73 are either the R-ATP types, or those with no military or 121 experience. That being said, the 8/23 767 class has two trainees with zero turbine time, and one is a straight 1500 hr CFI (admittedly an outlier, as he was a dispatcher in a previous life). There are a few prior mil guys, and rest are all regional and 135 backgrounds. There are also regional hires in the 74 class.

You will make a fleet request during your interview, and the company will try to honor it, but will put you where they need you (and where your experience and background make sense). You find out which fleet you will be assigned when you get your class date, shortly after CJO.

These are the upcoming new hire class dates according to the Union News Letter:

October 3
October 24

B767
September 13
October 4
October 25

B777
September 6

Just talked to a pilot just off OE. He said in his interview, he was told Atlas would hire anyone, from any country, and work on getting them permission/right to work in the US. He said some people were taking more than a year to get their right to work, after they were hired.

Atlas may want to hire anyone from any country, but it just doesn’t work that way. I’m sure they wish that was the case haha. I was a permanent resident for a long time, then became a US citizen, so I know a bit about immigration

Look, I work with the hiring team. Several months ago we interviewed a few folks that were seeking visas, they had to do their own funding and leg work. It is just too spendy and time consuming, and Atlas does not foot the bill. We aren’t even interviewing such folks at this time and haven’t for several months. As I have stated several times it is;

US citizens
Others that have the right to work, e.g. Green cards or visas from an American spouse
Aussies as they have a much quicker and cheaper visa route
Folks that worked another visa on their own and are awaiting final authorization

So please stop encouraging others and stating that “someone told me” that Atlas will hire anyone from anywhere.

Default Baggage allowance for flight to Indoc

Should the company provide checked bags on your gateway flight to Miami for initial training?
Expecting to be in Miami for a few months, surely they would expect you to bring more than just a carry on.

Yes They will pay for checked bags. I claimed 2 bags when I arrived a few weeks ago and it was paid, no questions. They will show you how to claim your checked bags on day 1 or 2.

So even though the joining ticket says no bags, just turn up with them, pay and company will reimburse? That’s great thanks

If you are at the big Marriott Compound, there are washers and dryers. $2.25 per load wash and dry, payable through the WashMe App or credit card on the machine. There is also a dry cleaners three blocks away. Might help you from over-packing, which I definately did.

To add to this. If at Home2 they have 2 washers and dryers. They are free to use if you can get in.
