It’ll be the 30th then. The Union email just got the dates wrong I’m sure.

No hits/thoughts/answers earlier when posted as its own thread so I will post it on our largest thread for info our Union or Union type experts (not me) can provide.

UPS TEAMSTERS possible strike 2023?
Legitimate concern perhaps, not trying to stir up anything but an understanding on how the situation below may affect us regarding the Brown Teamsters? Definitely not an expert hence the question. We do not have truckers (Package Drivers, etc) over 300,000 employees besides ourselves of any sort but we fall under Teamsters. UPS pilot group Union is in house but they are collectively under the same employer so I can see where they’re coming from. Looks like a new Sheriff in town. Thoughts anyone?

*The actual question: UPS Teamsters strike Jan 2023, where does that leave us? “All In! or All out? Or is this a 10ft pole question…?

Not sure about that. Friend of mine just got the offer today for a 74 course starting on 5/31.

Hmmmm interesting. I just received an email with the training details and it states 05/30. I'd rather show up on the earlier date and not the latter one and realize I missed the 1st day.

CBA 26.W : "The Union agrees that during the term of the Agreement there will not be any... refusals to cross picket lines ...

Nothing in this paragraph shall be construed, however, to limit the rights of the Union or the Atlas Crew Members to refuse to cross lawful strike picket lines established by or on behalf of the pilots represented by any union lawfully certified or recognized pursuant to the Railway Labor Act."

Our rights and responsibilities are pretty clearly spelled out in the CBA, it seems to me. Is IPA planning on calling their own strike? Or will they just not be crossing the line made by the warehouse workers? I don't believe that we have any cover to refuse to cross a picket line that is created by a union that isn't a picket line for pilots.

thanks,
Email one of the "any questions" people and they can provide you with a non-disappearing copy of the letter.

Nothing except historical precedent. In years past, the company has actually been good about moving crews from hotel properties (as an example of a non-pilot group) that are actively on strike. The issues here are physical safety, noise, rest and fatigue.

I can assure you, this Teamster will not be crossing any strike picket lines whether they be in front of hotels or UPS/FDX/DHL/Amazon operations. As a Captain I'm responsible for the safety of my crew, not just in the air, but on the ground as well.

Does 2nd year pay start from end of training or date of hire?

My apologies if this was covered.
