A first year FO has to credit 170 hours to make $20k in a month. Come on man! That’s BS.

As far as me doing something wrong, $45k in a month = 164 hours pay. Never been close.
So you're not reading it right. The credit on the bid package does not include Article 33 which is part of your BLG. You need to read the payroll document.
Last line on the first page, 100.84 above guarantee. That is 164.84 hours BLG.

With so much traffic through ANC, if a person lived in ANC, they could work their 17 days/month and would be able to sleep in their bed some of those 17 days?

In short…NO
The top 10-15 ANC FO’s that live locally will snag all those as is the case at every base.
You live in base for a reason.
Currently best bet is 30 day outbase from Incheon and you’ll see ANC every 4-5 days.
But who knows when that may go away.

It sounds harsh but if you want to be home don’t apply at Atlas.
Plan on being away for 17 days and anything less is gravy.
Budget on min monthly garantee and anything more is gravy.

I hear ya, currently doing DoD OCUNUS and the Atlas (or seems any ACMI) schedule, even worst case, has me home more often.

The ASAP ones usually get down pretty far on the seniority list from time to time.

If someone lives in ANC and is based in ANC. There is a good chance that they will be home often with hard rest multiple times per month. ANC is usually the exception not the rule when it comes to the company keeping you from touching base to avoid hard rest.

There a few times where you will going most of the trip without seeing ANC. But as a former ANC guy, that was a rarity.

Don’t listen to Tired. That used to be the way of it. But since we don’t do much Asia to Europe flying anymore. The likelihood of you having Anchorage layovers inside your 17 days are significantly higher now in the more recent lines.

As always, YMMV, but all prospective newbies should keep in mind that the AIP improvements to the current substandard awarded contract are very much in jeopardy. Management is trying to go back on their previously agreed improvements to 401k match and LTD. If they don’t get right in the next couple of days and reach agreement, the AIP will likely fail and new hire pay will go back to $1600/mo for the first four months.
Just so in understand, since i haven't seen the communication. Are you talking about the contract signed last fall or the changes that happened as of January this year?
Not talking 401k or LTD now, but i would rather take 1600/m instead of 92 and get a 117/h year 1 pay.

The arbitrated contract cannot be changed without an agreement between the company and the union, and approved by the arbitrator. None of the contract is in jeopardy. Some of the definitions are in question, but those only affect retirees and sick bank payout right now.

The AIP contains the change to new hire pay, LTD, 401k match increase and DC, changes to scope, and some other minor things. That is what is in question. The company is playing their usual games and our Union president said they gave them a deadline of midnight tonight(Friday) to make good on the agreement as originally negotiated. We may hear tomorrow that the entire AIP is gone. Who knows.
