Plus a bunch of other vaccinations to protect you as you travel the globe. If vaccines aren’t your thing then Atlas isn’t the job for you.

I appologize if my search function judo skills are lacking, but I haven't stumbled upon a recent discussion on this topic. How would a commute from Germany work? Assuming that FRA can't be used as a gateway. I am looking at a 2.5 hour train ride to CGN for the MEM flight, or 4.5 hours to LEJ for the CVG flight if I could jumpseat on a company flight. I realize that the routes can be changed by the customer and I realize I would lose an extra day off over gateway travel. I read that there is currently no international jumpseating, but does that apply to travel for work? Is there any protection for not showing at base on time if one or two scheduled JS flights cancel? Can a JS be used in combination with gateway from CVG or MEM to get to ANC or LAX/ONT?

Thank you for your consideration and responses.

There are no international gateways. Yes, you could JS on company metal from any European city. We had a captain living in Paris that regularly rode from LUX to HSV. There is no protection if you fail to show for a duty period. You have to declare a "gateway" airport if you are going to use the program. It is voluntary. You can use alternate travel to purchase a ticket form Europe for equal or lesser value of the price of your "gateway" ticket.

Default New Hire Pay Question

Merry Xmas everyone. Quick question - New Hire Pay. $1600 a month for 4 months or completion of OE. With what I'm reading here on the forums of Atlas turnover, can new hires expect to complete OE quicker due to the lack of pilots? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Usually, it's the opposite because there are constantly new people in training with the churn at the bottom of the seniority list.

I don't know how they're doing it. Heard there is a method for applying for religious or medical exemptions, but I have no clue if/who they're approving and the circumstances. I do know they told me in the interview that having the vaccine is a requirement to be offered the job.

Do you think you can apply for a medical/religious exemption just for the Covid jab but still submit to the other required vaccinations?

No, plan on 4 months at 1,600$ a month. 747 classes are in excess of 90 days. Good chance you'll be hitting 120th day before you even start OE and then going to full guarantee. The training center isn't staffed or designed to train the amount that they have down here in Miami and want to hire. You can plan for 1 day on 2 to 3 days off kind of schedule once into fixed base. We did 2 full motion sims in a span of 8 days for example.
